High School Class of 2018

Classes finish June 10th for me, then I just show up the days of my 3 exams.

Must not get tempted to slack off…

@EmZoWe I had the interview today and honestly, I don’t think I did that well. I got pretty nervous and ineloquent. But oh well, it was my first try, so if it doesn’t work out it’s no big deal.
June 21st is so late. I get out May 27th. I’m struggling just to get to there, so it seems unfathomable to have another month of school after that. Godspeed.

@ak2018 I’ve never thought about that! I’d also like a more extroverted roommate, and I agree with you on cleanliness. Also, I have no shame whatsoever, so I need someone openminded. I wouldn’t mind an early bird as long as they’re considerate not to make noise while I’m still sleeping.

@ak2018 omg, ur actually a triplet lol, me and my sister were also born May 10th.

I get out of school May 25th (actually pretty soon…). Im torn between wanting more time to study for AP tests and finals and wanting to just be done with school.

For my roommate, i want some like me, who is extroverted and introverted in some ways. Definitely someone clean and maybe with similar music taste lol. Im studying a couple of languages, so maybe an international student? Hmm…

@ak2018 Wow, those are some cool classes…Wish we had electives like engineering haha. I’m taking

AP Econ (Micro/Macro)
AP Calc AB
AP Psych
AP Lang
AP US
AP Physics or Dual Enrollment Physics (Depends on whether or not I do physics over the summer )
Comp Sci I

Everything is weighted 1.0 besides comp Sci and DE physics is 0.5 if I choose to take that

@neonerudite That’s so cool lol

@savagestudent7 That’s a lot of AP classes. Good Luck! And yeah. I’d honestly rather take Engineering than a lot of APs. We are both taking AP Lang.

I’m going on a hiatus and until further notice, I will not be on College Confidential.

@bubblylaugh Ok! See you when you get back from your hiatus.

@savagestudent7 I’m taking
AP Economics
Honors Precalc
AP Lit
Medical Interventions
AP Gov/ Medical Career Foundations (each 1 sem)
AP Chem

@ak2018 and @nyuhopeful44 … Noticed both of you guys are taking AP Chem next year. It’s not that hard of a course if you’re good at Chem I. I strongly recommend doing your homework every night and pre-studying what you are going to learn a class in advance. This is because many of the concepts are confusing so if you take it in at home once, it’ll become really clear at school. Also…if you don’t know anything you MUST KNOW your ions, how to do stoichiometry like A GOD, and a basic understanding of Algebra II (Logarithms are is hard as it gets)…For me, it’s an eh course but I had to work to get a 94% Lol

@savagestudent7 I’m taking
AP Calc AB/BC
AP Physics
AP Lang
H World History
H Java Programming / H Comp Sci
Forensics / H Contemporary Voices

Study Hall both semesters

I would take more APs but I play three sports so I never get an offseason. I would take French 4, but it’s a waste of a class because we don’t learn anything and my teacher is horrible. Also, they force us to take a study hall with more than 3 APs.

Next year I’m taking
AP Calc BC
AP Physics C
AP Chem
Spanish 4
AP Computer Science
English 3
My school offers no AP foreign language or english courses.
I don’t think I’m going to take a history class next year but I’m thinking about taking APUSH and AP Economics senior year, do you guys think this a good/bad idea? I’m really not a history person.

@WishStar12 I’m taking APUSH and AP Econ right now. I’m not a huge history person either, but I’m managing APUSH perfectly fine. I think it depends on whether you not being a history person is based on not finding it interesting or not being able to memorize much or analyze and synthesize things. You at least have to have some interest in history or else keeping up with the readings will be difficult. Analyzing and synthesizing gets easier as the course goes on because you get a lot of practice, so if that’s your problem, I wouldn’t be too worried. Also, memorizing focuses more on things that contributed to a bigger picture, so you won’t have to memorize every single thing.

As for AP Econ, I love it. I would take it. I had absolutely no interest in it prior to taking it, but it can actually be pretty fun and it’s not that difficult either.

@savagestudent7 Thanks for the advice. I would say I’m pretty okay with Honors Chemistry right now. I got an 87%, a B+, last quarter. I’m not exactly good at doing homework every night. I usually have one or two days a week where I don’t have homework. I’m kind of terrible at pre-studying, but I could watch a few YouTube videos on the topic. We actually just started States of Matter in Honors Chem. We’re mainly focusing on gases right now. I’m really good at ions (my best unit all year has been on Nomenclature). I’m iffy when it comes to Stoichiometry and I’m in Algebra II right now, I’m doing pretty well.

I have a track meet today. Wish me luck.

MP 3 grades were finalized today! I’m super excited because I really worked to get my APUSH grade up after a really hard time with in class essays and I finished with an 88 (a B+ on our scale)! Everything else I finished with As in but honestly I’m most proud of that 88 in APUSH just because of how hard I worked to get that.

So I just got back from my track meet, and I am exhausted! I ran a total of 2700 meters. It was worth it tho, because I came 1st in my 1500m race.

@apple1893 Lol, are we sure we don’t live in the same school district? This is the second time you’ve had a track meet the same day I did. I just got back as well. I have a new PR (personal record) in shotput, which is 30.5 feet with a 12 pound ball. My dad came to see me throw for the first time ever and he was impressed. Congratulations on first place! I would’ve been out of breath after one 400 meter.

@DaEmmJay23 That’s a good schedule for being an all-round athlete I guess. Take Calculus BC because you’re only taking 3 AP’s. Also, which type of AP Physics are you taking? I’d recommend taking AP Physics C to get a competitive edge. Oh, and Lang should be easy if you’re good at English. I really like how your schedule is geared towards what you like…presumably STEM subjects. By the way, good decision not doing French 4. I personally believe anything after or at 4 is a complete waste of time. I regret taking Latin 4 every day…

@savagestudent7 I’m really liking the advice you’re giving. Keep it up! :))
