High School Class of 2018

@ neonrudite
Happy birthday to you too! >:D<
I hope you have a great birthday!

@neonerudite Happy Birthday!!! <:-P

@ak2018 @neonerudite Happy Birthday! Just imagine, you are half way till 32!

@ak2018 @neonerudite Happy birthday to both of you!!! <:-P

@abbiegaile Thanks! You know what? I actually didn’t wish for anything this year. I’m honestly not expecting a present. Maybe some cupcakes from my parents, but other than that, not really. We just spent a lot of money for my summer school classes, a whopping $450, so we’re not really trying to spend a lot of money. We’re planning to celebrate both my and my brother’s birthday on my brother’s birthday, when we go to Kings Dominion, since his birthday is in the summer.

@apple1893 @neptuna Lol thanks. I’m halfway to being middle-aged. You know what’s funny. 8-year-old me predicted that I’d have a car today and start driving to school and home. 8-year-old me was so wrong! :))

@ak2018 Same! When I was little I always dreamed of getting a car and license on my birthday… my birthday was back in November, I just got my license last week but no car in sight.

@ak2018 Me too! I thought as a teenager my life was gonna be like Teenage Dream by Katy Perry. In reality, I sit at home all day watching food documentaries and doing homework.

I got my license on my bday but no car yet, I’ve been saving since I started my job

@neptuna Same! Lol, “Teenage Dream”? More like " Teenage Reality"! :))

@ak2018 @neonerudite Happy Birthday!! <:-P

@LeopardFire I took APNSL today! What did you think about it? I thought it was pretty easy, actually. I guess we’ll see in July haha

@preciousdiamond Thanks! :smiley:

Is anyone else not taking any APs this year? I feel like I’m the only one.

Who all is taking the AP World exam tomorrow?

@ak2018 “Is anyone else not taking any APs this year? I feel like I’m the only one.”

Well, my school doesn’t offer them… So, me!

My exam for AP Macro is in about two hours. So nervous. Wish me luck!

Good luck - you’re going to kill it! @neptuna

Well that seems a lot worse! @apple1893

My Algebra 2 teacher handed back our mock finals (SOL) today and I got a 44/50, an 88%, which she said is a pass advanced score. As I’ve mentioned before, the SOL (Standards of Learning) tests are statewide tests that are given throughout the state of Virginia. Here’s how the SOLs are scaled:

0 - 399 Fail
400 - 499 Pass
500 - 600 Pass Advanced

My score on the mock Algebra 2 SOL, which was not curved, was a 528. The SOLs are definitely curved so if this was my actual SOL, I would have pass advanced. Here, in my county at least, if you pass advanced the SOL, you will automatically get a 100% on your final and are exempt from having to take the final. The final is worth 10% of our end-of-year grade and will go into the gradebook as a test grade, so if I get a pass advanced it will definitely boost my grade up. If you just pass the SOL, meaning you had between a 400 - 499, you’ll be exempt from the final, but you won’t have a grade entered into the gradebook. If you fail the SOL, you have to take the final, which is a lot header than the SOL. Math SOLs are mainly multiple choice, with a few fill-in or plotting graph questions.
