High School Class of 2018

@jakejake637 Yeah, I’m not really worried though. Colleges won’t be able to see my SOL scores. All they will see is they the course was verified, which is what the SOLs are for. To verify that I’ve passed the final exam.

@HelloThereHola Finals start next week for me. Wednesday is my World History SOL and Friday is my Chemistry SOL. Then I have my Algebra II SOL next Monday. Cool that you’re going to DC next week. I actually live around there. A couple of tips (not to scare you):

  1. I would highly recommend not running around at night. I hear a news report about someone who was shot dead overnight somewhere in DC almost every morning when I wake up for school. DON'T BE ONE OF THEM!
  2. Be cautious! I recently heard about a shooting that took place at the Capitol building not long ago.
  3. Don't get fooled or you'll be overpriced for almost everything! There are many food trucks in DC that charge so much. They usually get the most money out of tourists.
  4. Don't act like an ignorant tourist or you may be taken advantage of.

@SlugBanquo Welcome to the thread as well.

Hello and welcome to CC’s official High School Class of 2018 Thread. Here you can interact with other users who have the same high level of interest about school as you. Here, we talk about almost everything associated with school and our daily lives as well. During this time of the year, as I’ve seen so far, we’ve been talking about course selections for next year as well getting ready for junior year. We’ve also talked about school sports and clubs, current grades, internships, summer programs, scholarships, and so much more. Anything you can think of pertaining to school, specifically sophomore year centered, we’ve probably talked about it. This thread, as I’ve seen throughout the past few months, can also be used to talk about personal issues as well. The students on here a very supportive bunch and have helped me figure out problems as well as help me through some of the most stressful times during this year. So, this thread can also be used as a way to de-stress and relax. If you have any questions about anything pertaining to this thread, just reply. Hopefully, you’ll stay for the long haul all the way until graduation. I’ve been on this thread for a few months now and I’ve got to say, it can be pretty addicting. Hope you have a nice time on this thread. Virtual Handshake

@apple1893 I was just about to ask if anyone was joining tonight. I have to admit, now that the school year is winding down, I’ve actually able to handle all the homework I’ve been getting. I don’t have any homework due tomorrow, but I have homework due for Chemistry I could start on. Then I might take a practice SOL for Chemistry and take another one for Algebra II. I’m actually liking I don’t have that much homework anymore. I’m not as stressed I was once was.

@jakejake637 Same. I feel like I can finally relax.

Also, who thinks they’re still gonna be on CC over the summer. I know I probably will. A lot of people will be reporting their AP scores on here in July.

I’m probably gonna be visiting every now and then until graduation, tbh. What AP classes are you guys taking this year? I’m taking AP Gov, pretty sure I got a at least a 4 on the test.

@SlugBanquo I took AP Gov too, and I think I did pretty well on the test despite the fact I know I messed up a part of one of the FRQs

@HelloThereHola More tips from a former NOVA resident:
-hold your breath on the metro. Not really, by it is occasionally super questionable.
-don’t expect everybody to be either a gang member or a politician.
-go to Clyde’s. I think it’s near the Verizon center (???)
-orient yourself so that you don’t get lost on the Mall.
-plan ahead to avoid excess transfers on the Metro.
-it’s usually safer and about as costly to go to a restaurant. Choose the restaurant.

@ak2018 @awesomepolyglot Thanks guys lol. You actually kind of scared me a little now. It’s a school trip though. Since yall lived there or do live near there, how much money do you think I need for 4 meals? We only have to pay for that many and I’m not sure how expensive things are there. I like to know for sure lol.

This year has been really easy for me, but I’m still happy it’s almost over.
Anyway, I forgot to buy a yearbook so I’m probably not going to get one this year. Yay.

@HelloThereHola I would say at least $80 - 100.

@Muufeen I’m planning on buying the yearbook senior year.
