High School Class of 2018

Yup I read through it once before annotating it and it is a rather fascinating book. I’ll have to check that one out.

My last day of school was today! My total unweighted GPA is a 3.95, and my weighted is a 4.35. I just can’t believe we’re all half way done with high school! It feels like yesterday I was just starting middle school, and now we’re going to be juniors. Its just scary :frowning:

@Hamlon just tried talking to my dad and he told me that 3000 dollars is nothing to him, and he just says that because he thinks I really need the class, I already feel bad for wanting to go OOS, now with this I just feel like I’m spending so much money on college.

My final averages in 10th grade:

English : 90
Algebra 2: 90
Biology: 94
US History: 91
French 3: 92
Photography 1: 90

10th grade UW: 3.68
9th and 10th grade UW: 3.4

Public Speaking : 93
Spanish : 95
English : 96
Chemistry : 98
Geometry : 97
Global Studies : 99

Looking at the statistics for this year’s AP exams is making me sweat. I think I failed AP Macro. I struggled with the multiple choice, know I missed a few points on FRQ3, and apparently 40% of students got 0 points on FRQ2. bye y’all I’m dead :-h

I took a practice SAT at summer school and I missed 23 questions, which is roughly a 1430 I think and I thought I did pretty well but everyone did wayyyy better than me T^T

If you are happy with your score don’t worry about how others did it will only make you feel bad.

Oh, by the way, HAPPY RAMADAN to everyone who is religiously fasting! Right before school ended, I was trying to find out more about Ramadan from my Muslim friends. I learn more and more about it every year. From what I remember being told, during Ramadan, all Muslims must fast, meaning not eating food, from sunrise to sunset everyday for the duration of Ramadan. There are also a lot of things you can’t do, which is haram, kind of like sinning, during Ramadan like cursing, but I’m pretty sure that’s haram all year. One of my dad’s high school friend’s, my uncle, is Muslim, along with his wife, so I try to learn a little bit everytime I visit. This information is only from what I’ve learned. If I’m misinformed about any of this, please tell me. I’d also like to, from anyone of Islamic region, how you guys are holding up without eating for so long a day. You guys are seriously warriors. I could honestly not fast for more than a day.

So today, I was “lurking/stalking” Virginia Tech on Instagram (this is good :)) ) looked at a particular picture of the campus that had this caption:

Thousands of guests will visit #VirginiaTech’s campuses this summer, from Blacksburg to Hampton Roads to Switzerland and everywhere in between. To each of you we say: Welcome to #HokieNation!

I wrote a comment under that picture as a reply to a girl who had gone there earlier this summer who was a rising senior asking her about what VT was like.

She said: Just visited for a college tour yesterday… Best day of my life honestly!

I then asked her: Are you a rising junior or senior? I’m a junior, as of next year, and will also be touring the campus sometime later next month. How was it?

And she replied: Rising senior; I highly recommend

Then I decided to write a comment to the Virginia Tech Instagram account under the picture that said: I would just like to say I can’t wait to see all that Virginia Tech has to offer when I pay a visit on Friday, July 29 as one of those who will be attending VT Sneak Peek Day! As an aspiring Mechanical Engineer and rising junior, VT is definitely my first choice college. I’ll definitely be taking lots of pictures, so the campus had better look its best!

Then they replied: We’ll make sure @vtadmissions knows to roll out the red carpet.

Then I replied: I expect no less from the BEST!

I handled that like a pro. Virginia Tech better have a red carpet and paparazzi waiting for me once I arrive because I’m about to be stuntin’ on those college kids. I already look like a belong on college campus, might as well act like I already am a HOKIE!

@Soccer1235 only a 3? Gosh, I have to get a 5 to be allowed to do multivariable calc lol. I think I got one cause I got a solid 5 on the practice, felt good on the test, and ap trevor says that about 50% of all test takers got a 5, but still!

I’m a Muslim and honestly, fasting isn’t nearly as hard as you think it is. We usually wake up late (2-3 pm) so there aren’t really that many hours of fasting. @snowfairy137 it would probably be impossible to take multivariable calc with a 3 anyway, but I guess they just want to give everyone a chance. I hope I got a 5. I didn’t take a practice test but the multiple choice went pretty well.

@Soccer1235 I know the food would be easy, the reason I say this is I do intermittent fasting(you guys should look it up) all it means is I don’t eat everyday until 3 P.M this is for fitness reasons and helps me stay at a low body fat percentage while still allowing me to gain muscle.and is actually enjoyable for me However I imagine no water would be very difficult and would be kind of a drag because any physical activity would kill you.

@BucketsUCSC is water really not allowed in some fasting traditions? I feel like thats extreme since a human can survive 30 days without food but only 3 without water…

@snowfairy137 I’m not Muslim but I believe they aren’t allowed to drink water during ramadan when I do intermittent fasting(been doing it for 7 months now) I drink plenty of water.

From what I understand there’s like a 10 hour window where they’re allowed to eat and drink water but not sure how it works

@BucketsUCSC @snowfairy137 I’m not Muslim either but I believe that they can not eat or drink from sunrise to sunset, but they can eat and drink at night
