High School Class of 2018

@Soccer1235 @BucketsUCSC @snowfairy137 Well a couple of my Muslim friends do take it seriously. Back when school was in session, they’d be fasting in the morning and they’d get really mad whenever some waved food in their face, but that’s understandable. And one of my other Muslim friends, who plays club soccer, couldn’t drink water during her soccer game. She said her and the other Muslim players were getting sunbathed and exhausted. This is only what I’ve been told.

Also, 6,000 POSTS! WOAH! <:-P

So, I just finished making 5 threads for all 5 colleges I plan to apply to. I kind of wanted to create little online communities, like this one, with people I’ll actually be applying with. I made the threads for the high school classes of 2017 - 2020 (Next Year’s Freshmen) ! Here are the thread links of anyone wants to join them:

I decided to go for it. Hope this works! I’m going to see if we can get some people from the other High School Class of 20XX pages.

Is anyone else going on college tours this summer? My brother really wants me to tour his old school (Providence college) with him because he really loved it there. However, I have no idea where else to look. I’ve been on most college campuses near me (Tufts, BU, etc.). So is anyone else planning on touring colleges in the Northeast?

@DancingwithStars I live in CT, so all my college tours are going to be in the northeast. I’d like to check out Providence College, but that’s because I love Providence. :stuck_out_tongue: I need to research what I want.

@DancingwithStars im planning to go tour colleges in the northeast next spring break.

@DancingwithStars I’ll be heading over to Virginia Tech, hopefully, on August 1st, instead of July 29th. My dad is scheduled to work the night of July 28th, so he won’t be able to drive us down without any sleep. So I just rescheduled the date with Virginia Tech to come on August 1st instead. My dad doesn’t know if he’ll be off the night before August 1st, so hopefully he is.

Technically, Virginia Tech is considered to be in the southeast. At this point, Virginia Tech is my only priority to tour this summer, so no Northeast colleges for me.

So what happens is that between sunrise (4:30 where I live) and sunset (9:10) we don’t get any food or water. However during the night we can drink and eat all we want. It isn’t difficult just gets a bit tiring. I play soccer about an hour a day and it’s not bad as long as I don’t run too much.

I finished The Paladin Prophecy: Rogue last Friday and I have to say it was okay, but not the best.

I know it’s a little early to be thinking about, since some of us are STILL in school, but when does school start for you guys? School starts for me on August 29th. I admit, I’m kind of scared for junior year as it will certainly be my most challenging year yet. I lowkey regret taking AP English Language after thinking about all of the classes I’ll be spending writing essays.

My school starts on August 1st. I wish I got out of school about ten days later and started school ten days later. My junior year will be really hard since I will be taking six AP classes and seven tests, but I think I’ll be okay.

Also, would anyone mind telling me what Physics topics we’ll go over in Principles of Engineering and how much Trigonometry is involved? I probably have said this for the third time now, but I honestly can’t wait to take POE next year. Especially since our school’s main Physics teacher will be teaching it and he has told me he will be making sure to include a lot of Physics in the course, as much as he can, since most of the students will be sophomores and he wants to get them started with Physics, at the very least, hopefully getting them into AP Physics 1. I’m asking about Trigonometry because I, technically, will not be working with it in math class until 2nd quarter. Also, I was wondering if the topics learned in are somewhat similar to that of what you would learn in a regular or AP Physics 1 class.

School for me starts on September 20something bc the university wherem y classes are is on a quarter system.

Here’s my calendar:

Look at the disgrace that is my spring break.

@neptuna Is that even legal?!

OMG guys, I’m having a revelation. I was reading Into the Wild and I just found out the word “Nemo” is Latin for “nobody”. Finding Nemo literally translates to Finding Nobody!

@ak2018 I know. :(( 5 college level classes, AP exams, ACT/SAT, college planning, ECs, etc. and my school thinks this is okay. I’ll probably spend those two days catching up! I don’t think they realize that having time to recharge is actually necessary for good performance. I’m scared for next year.

My school starts August 10th which is really early (never had school on my birthday August 12th before) and ends the 25th. I guess @neptuna 's short spring break is so that they can finish so early with such a late start.

@Soccer1235 You’re right, that’s exactly why. I’d much rather start early or end late though just because spring break comes before a hectic part of the semester that I’d like to build up some energy for. What gets on my nerves about the whole thing is that because my school is online, teachers are given their own week long spring break (they can choose the week before or after Easter Sunday depending on when their children in brick-and mortar schools’ breaks are.) You’re just left to fend for yourself that week because there will be no classes and they won’t answer emails or phone calls. I can see how other students would struggle and get behind without the support of their teacher, so this just seems grossly unfair to me. OK, rant over. :))

So, as my first SAT practice test on Khan looms ever so closer, I’ve decided I’ll a set target goal scores for each test.

For the first SAT practice test, my goal is to raise my PSAT score from a 990 to a SAT score of 1100. Since I know my biggest mistake on the PSAT, which was that I didn’t know there wasn’t a guessing penalty, is easily fixable, I plan to simply answer every question, even if I’m running out of time. This should easily help me get to my goal. After that, I plan to raise my score 60 points for next three tests. So here are my target goals

SAT Practice Test 1: 1100
SAT Practice Test 2: 1160
SAT Practice Test 3: 1210
SAT Practice Test 4: 1270

I know my goal is somewhat low, however, I believe that my first score could be a little higher, like a 1200, but I want to make 1100 my minimum value.

My goal, on my first actual SAT, is to get at least a 1300.
