760M 690R/W @BucketsUCSC
Actually I think I can get my math to 790/800 maybe so the next goal I have is 1520(equals 34 on ACT) how hard is it to go up on R/W? I think if i slowed down I could have got 1-2 more right on the writing but my reading is still weak. I used the whole time on reading and missed 10 questions.
for writing just focus on learning all the grammar rules there isn’t that many and if you find the grammar rules being tested and drill them that should helps. And reading i think you just need to understand how far the author is inferring like understand what is a good inference and what is too far. What specific questions do you not do good on in reading? Also how do you improve in math? My highest score is a 1450(750 R/W 700 M) with a 39 in reading and 36 in writing highest single sitting score.
@BucketsUCSC How did you do in the calc portion and non-clac portion
i do better in calc portion like i got minus 8 total 6 wrong in no calc 2 wrong in calc
So what prep material do you guys recommend for the SAT (I have princeton review)
Currently contacting as many research labs as possible hoping one of them will allow me to volunteer in their lab, really want some type of research experience.
I took the old one, so my opinion may not be up to date, but I thought that the blue book was very helpful.
@HritikKumar You should try contacting a local college professor. That’s what I did and I landed an awesome position as a research assistant with one of her grad students.
@kassh4 When I was in Pre-AP Chem, during the 2nd quarter, our teacher made us memorize 20 polyatomic ions and would give us a quiz on them once every two weeks. The quizzes would get progressively. The first quiz was all matching, the second was of a mix of matching and writing in the polyatomic ions, and the third was all writing in. I did really well on them. Anyway, my AP Chem teacher gave us an entire summer assignment, that I haven’t even started, to help us remember the polyatomic ions. She has a Quizlet, too. I can give you the link, if you want.
@ak2018 Please. I have to memorize a bunch of ions too its a huge list good thing I started early.

Okay guys. After some intense research and based off my grades from last year. I’m actually going to apply to GMU’s Aspiring Scientists Summer Internship Program (ASSIP) next year. My father actually told about potentially doing something in Biotechnology, but I was thinking more along the lines of Physics and Chemistry. The application process starts in November.
The research topics include Biochemistry, Biodefense, Bioengineering, Bioinformatics, Chemistry, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Earth Science, Environmental Science, Genomics, GeoInformation Science (GIS), Mathematical Modeling, Medicine, Nanotechnology, Neuroscience, Serious Game Design, Sports Medicine, Physics, and Proteomics.
Here is my quizlet of ions with their charges https://quizlet.com/144609143/ap-chemistry-ion-list-flash-cards/
I just made a new quizlet set because we had to memorize a few more polyatomics and stuff.
@WinnerWannabe for the old SAT it’s helpful because you couldn’t get those practice tests online but for the new SAT you can get the same tests for free online
@ak2018 @kassh4 could you guys post more of these if you have any? I’m going straight to AP Chem without any previous chem knowledge (except khan academy) and these really help!
@nyuhopeful44 I feel so bad for you that sucks
@nyuhopeful44 Did you get any summer homework from your AP Chem teacher?
