High School Class of 2018

Is there a way to convert your PSAT score to SAT or the other way around. I keep wondering what the score would be on the other test, etc. since both are so similar.

I started on Monday. I am enjoying all of my classes although I do have quite a bit of work. I already purchased all of my AP prep books since I am taking six or seven tests and will not be able to cram all of the information in to the last few weeks. My AP Chemistry class moves very quickly, and we are going to be starting the third chapter of the book either tomorrow or on Monday. Once the swimming season kicks in next week, I will have a lot more trouble getting eight hours of sleep every day.

I start today LOL

@wildguy57 Here you go http://blog.prepscholar.com/new-sat-conversion-chart-old-2400-to-new-1600

@LeopardFire I literally start school two days before you, Monday, August 29th.

@awesomepolyglot Good Luck!

@TP2000 Geez, the third chapter already?! I know my AP Chemistry teacher is going to try and review what we’ve learned during the fourth quarter of last year, and that should only take one class! My Chemistry teacher last year only got up to equilibrium before our SOL final, so we really didn’t go over redox and other things after that. I’m both excited and scared for AP Chemistry. It’s probably going to be the class I study for the most!

@Izumii We get our IDs the same day we get our school pictures taken. At our school, you take your school picture during your English class sometime at the end of September.

What is everyone looking forward to this year? I am looking forward to the following: Soccer, S.N.H.C, and being with friends.

Okay, so today was our last day of Health and PE 2 and I’m kind of sad. I made so many new friends and our class was LIT! We all made a group chat, all 35 of us, to keep up with each other.

So basically, we started out today at 7:30am outside to run the mile, which was the physical portion of our final exam. I ran the mile in 8 minutes and 18 seconds. I would’ve gotten a much better time, if I had actually run all four laps. After I finished the first lap, I took 50 meter walking breaks between the 0 and 100 meter marks and the 200 and 300 meter marks, so I only really ran about 3 and quarter laps. The fastest time was 6 minutes and 5 seconds and the slowest time was about 13 minutes. After that, we took the written portion of the exam, which was a 100-questioned multiple choice exam, which was worth 20% of our grade, on everything we learned in Driver’s Ed. I got a 96% on the exam, so I have solidified my “A” in the class. I will have to get my final grade report card from my base school, but I’m 99.9% I got an A, so I’ll just ask my counselor what I got when school starts up again. Everyone passed the exam with the lowest grade being an 89%.After we finished our exam, we had a HUGE PARTY! Yesterday, we decided to plan our own little class “graduation” party, which we had today. Almost all of us brought food. I brought chips, salsa, marshmallows, and Little Bites party cake muffins. We also had cake (not by the ocean :)) ), snicker doodles, a lot of cookies, bags of chips, lots of soda, Chinese Dumplings and lots of chicken from Hooters! It was a feast! The funniest part was that even the freshmen Health and PE 1 class came to our party. Apparently, they were having a “healthy food” party and not that many people brought in much food. We had so much food compared to them. So at first, only one of them came to our room, then came the whole class! Some of us decided to have fun with them and became the party “bouncers” and block the door so we couldn’t get in! :)) Some of the guys were shouting “Women and all of the Asian kids get in free!” :)) It was honestly really funny. Eventually we let everyone in. The party only lasted for 30 minutes before we were let out for dismissal. We were listening to Fetty Wap the whole time. We all said our goodbyes, group hugged the teacher, took a class selfie, and left. It honestly felt exactly like the last day of school, even though it kind of was. I’ll be seeing some of my new friends again as freshmen and sophomores at my school so it should be okay.

I loved the class, especially the teacher. He was really nice to me. He’d always call me “big boy” because I’m kind of tall. I’ll probably see him again next month to go get my Driver’s Ed official completion card. I’m really going to miss 'em! :((

  • Class-Wise: I'm looking forward to AP Chemistry, AP English Language, Principles of Engineering, and Engineering Explorations 1/Robotics.
    • **AP Chemistry**: I'm looking forward to growing my understanding of Chemistry. I can't wait for all of the cool labs we're going to do. I also am going to try and take the subject of Chemistry more seriously as, at least for me, it is not something that can easily be learned.
    • **AP English Language**: I'm definitely not looking forward to all of those essays, but rather the class discussions about the books we'll be reading. That's kind of why I wanted to take the class. The class discussions in English class were my favorite part of class. It was one of the only times I'm able to argue with someone face-to-face and develop more opinions on other topics. Our best class discussion was when we read Frankenstein and we were arguing what truly classified us as humans and whether or not the monster would be considered human.

I remember some of the questions from our Frankenstein discussion were: What would happen to your soul, for those who believe we have souls and that they make us human, if your body was brought back to life? Would the soul return to its body or stay in whatever afterlife it was in? Would the reanimated body still be your body?

These questions, and the book: Frankenstein, in general, were what officially sparked my interest into natural philosophy.

@apple1893 I’m looking forward to football games, softball (I’ll be on varsity this year), my friends, and starting college applications after my AP exams

@apple1893

  • **Principles of Engineering**: I'm looking forward to finally starting my first official engineering class! I'm also looking forward to getting my first exposure to Physics through this class. Not only that, but the class it taught by our school's best AP Physics teacher. I can't wait to start making cool engineering projects!
  • **Engineering Explorations 1/Robotics**: This is going to be **dabomb.com!** We're getting a new teacher to teach this class, so I'll try to get on his good side. I'm looking forward to working with other people in teams and the projects.
    • Everything Else: I'm looking forward to doing indoor track in November and outdoor track in April, hopefully, my first high school football game (I haven't been to any), seeing old friends and making new ones, **the drama and gossip/b) ), Robotics Cluib, The Team America Rocketry Challenge Club, and much much more!

I just realized that the day we’ll be visiting Virginia Tech will be the first day of class for them. I’m going to see some college students in action!

@apple1893 One thing I like about school is that it gives structure to my life. :stuck_out_tongue: Other than that, the only thing I’m really looking forward to is the first day of school. Everything beyond that is going to be stressful…

My school just sent an application for students who want to take 4 AP classes and it’s making me nervous. There are several requirements and one of them is the student must not have a history of high stress or anxiety and I tend to get stressed and anxious.

My school is absolutely ridiculous. They are letting this girl take 7 AP classes, and they know it’s going to not end up well for her. My county and school offers pretty much every AP because it helps make more money, or it makes our school seem better??? However, the people who take 5-7 usually get a few B’s because they have other things going on in their lives.

On another note, I’m excited for the upcoming school year (starts August 22) because I’m taking only 4 APs and I’m finally going to be on Varisty Basketball and Lax, so I will get three pins this year and hopefully a fourth pin for all-county in football. Also, my football tryouts start on August 10th, but for me it’s gonna be like 4 days of practice since I’m the only returner for Defensive Line.

what about the new sat to the new psat and the reverse?

@wildguy57 I dont think there is a conversion between the PSAT and the SAT

Whatever a person receives on the PSAT is supposed to be exactly what he/she would have received on the SAT. There is no difference between PSAT and SAT scores, so there are no conversion tables.

but is not the maximum score on the PSAT 1520 and the max score is 1600 on the SAT. what about that 80 points difference?
