The SAT is harder.
@wildguy57 There is no New PSAT to New SAT conversion chart because its understood that while your PSAT score is a good indication of what your SAT score would be, the SAT is the harder test. There really is no accurate comparison you can make between them. The PSAT’s difficulty is based off of grade level (PSAT 8/9, PSAT 10, and PSAT/NMSQT 11), while the SAT isn’t. I honestly don’t know why the new PSAT isn’t out of 1600, though.
@awesomepolyglot Exactly.
@wildguy57 The hardest questions on the SAT are not on the PSAT, so the PSAT scores and SAT scores should be equal.
Alrighty then
Anyone here watching the Oylmpics? I’m looking forward to swimming, diving, and gymnastics.
Also, I think swim team is starting the 25th for me?? I’m so out of shape…
Has anyone seen suicide squad? I thought it was an improvement from batman vs superman
@LeopardFire did you see the Spanish swimmer having a false start and almost being disqualified.
Tbh I just added 80 points to my psat score and called it my predicted sat score
I am looking forward to watching Swim and Volleyball in the Olympics. I play both of those sports and they aren’t shown on TV very often, so it is nice to be able to see them.
@ak2018 The college board claims that the PSAT doesn’t include the harder questions, so the scoring is only out of 1520. They want to make the PSAT an accurate predictor of SAT scores.
@nyuhopeful44 Scores naturally go up as students learn new information in school and as students progress in high school classes. Great job on your score; I hope my score goes up 80 points from last year’s score too because then I would most likely make NMSF in my state.
@wildguy57 I saw that! Did you see the French gymnast who broke his leg?
@TP2000 How did you do last year?
@kassh4 I got a 1370. I reviewed my answers online a few months ago n and I made some really dumb choices and could’ve broken 1400 if I had read more carefully. Still, I think I did pretty well for only a few hours of prep.
Have any of you earned college credits yet? I counted my credits up and I’ve earned thirty-two credits (to my in-state universities) from Dual Enrollment, Concurrent Enrollment, and AP.
@TP2000 That’s so weird. I’m okay with the PSAT now, but it sounds like to me that they couldn’t think of 8 more questions to put on the test, or couldn’t just take two questions out, leaving the PSAT max score at 1500 or 1600.
I just got an emai this morning from one of my friends, The President of Our School’s Robotics Club. Looks like I’m technically going back-to-school on Tuesday! We are officially in prep mode for next year’s FRC, SeaPerch, and Vex competitions.
**Welcome to the 2016-2017 robotics season.
I hope everyone has enjoyed their summer. As we approach the school year,
it is time to get a jump start on the robotics season. This being said, we
are planning to meet during the following days and times:
Tuesday, August 9 from 12 noon to 3pm
Wednesday, August 10 from 12 noon to 3pm
Friday, August 12 from 12 noon to 3pm
Our main goals for the meetings will be
(1) to prepare for the upcoming FRC season
(2) to introduce the upcoming freshman who are interested
(3) discuss the upcoming year with a new coach
(4) discuss changes and how this year will work (as well as leadership) and
(5) discuss marketing and outreach.
We are in need of parent supervisors due to the coach not being available until the 15th. Sadly we are restricted to the construction room, and only using tools such
as hand drills. We will work with what we have to prepare for this season!
For those who are rising freshman/new team members, a map of the school
with directions will be attached.

I literally can’t wait for this year’s Robotics season to start!
@bubblylaugh yes, that was preety bad.
I had my first Kaplan Class session and it was pretty fun. The teacher was super nice and gave us great tips.
Is it me or all the prep books for SAT, etc. just the same? At this point I feel like the best way to prepare is just to practice.
@TP2000 I think you misunderstood, I didn’t actually improve my PSAT score by that number of points (I’ve been focusing on the ACT) I just added the 80 points to convert my score from PSAT to SAT. So I got a 1380 on the PSAT and assumed I would get a 1460 on the actual SAT, which I know is not accurate but whatever.
How are you guys going about back to school shopping? I got a color coded notebook and binder for each AP class I’m taking, a notebook and folder for honors precalc, and a notebook and folder for medical interventions. I also stocked up on flashcards while they were ten cents a pack
