High School Class of 2018

@awesomepolyglot LOL Thanks! It’s kind of funny too. Back in Spanish class, during the beginning of year, some people said my voice gets really deep, I start to sound like the guy from the new Arby’s commercial. They would laugh every time I said “Arby’s, we have the meats!” :))

Okay so I’m kind of sad. I took another practice math test and scored lower than I did before. This test was from the Princeton review book. I prepped from the Manhattan Prep 5 Pound Book of ACT Problems, at least the Geometry part. After I started getting more than 20 incorrect, I crumbled the paper in frustration. I’m going to take the math test from the Manhattan Prep book. So my question is: Which should I trust, the Manhattan Prep (MP) book or the Princeton prep (PP) book?

I feel like I learned more about Geometry from MP than I did PP, but the questions on PP, after question 40, seemed really weird. I thought I had gotten them right, but I got them wrong.

I think Khan Academy’s stuff is the best I’ve seen. While they only have so many practice tests, they have many, many more practice questions- all for free.

Also, @ak2018 , you sound darn great! I can’t wait 'till you put up some content. PoE pls

Any of you guys taking the SAT in October? :stuck_out_tongue:

@ak2018 I am telling you stop wasting your time on practice tests from prep books. CrackACT has 40+ REAL ACT tests.

@OMPursuit Was that first part of your reply meant for me? I’m taking the ACT and there really is no free online resource like Khan Academy.

Thanks for the compliment! I should be putting up some stuff on PoE as early as the 1st week of school, so expect to see some content around early September.

@kassh4 What were you trying to say? The asterisks blocked it out.

Is there a specific book you use?

This was a really good article I found on prep motivation!

http://www.collegeconfidential.com/5-tips-improve-test-prep-motivation/

for people taking the SAT im kinda nervous i put 6/10 for my answer but the correct answer is 3/5 do u think they will accept this or no

@BucketsUCSC College board says it doesn’t have to be reduced unless it does not fit in the grid-in.

yes because the answer key says 3/5 and I marked my answer wrong

So to the people that have already started school. Is junior year as hard as everyone says and whats the latest you have stayed up this year

@ak2018 Naw, I was just mentioning since KA is an official SAT partner. For all the people taking that test (myself included), it’s a more reliable resource than any test-prep book.

Good luck on the ACT!

@kassh4 I am so done with junior year already. For reference I am taking 4 AP classes. Of the 4 days of school we’ve had, the latest is 11:30-ish. For a lot of people that’s the norm, but I only stayed up past 11 three times last year. This year its been every single day. Normally I’m out by like 9:30 or 10!!!

I am taking a practice SAT administered by my school on Aug. 27… I’m kinda nervous even though its just a practice… I’ve been having a really hard time fitting in practice time lately (lately as in with in this past month) :frowning:

How are you guys going to study for SAT with so many AP classes

@wildguy57 Thank god my school has an ACT prep class 30 minutes a day for the whole year. Also I did quite a bit of prep over the summer. So glad that i didn’t procrastinate on studying for the ACT.

@ak2018 Lol, on your video you spelt “Teengineer” incorrectly. You spelt it as “Teenigineer”

Who’s taking the September ACT? It’s just in a couple weeks!!

@savagestudent7 Yeah, I know lol! I plan on changing that in the next episode!

@Nyuhopeful44 meee

BY THE WAY, MY NEXT EPISODE WILL BE COMING OUT TONIGHT! I’M CURRENTLY SHOOTING FOOTAGE AT MY LOCAL LIBRARY AS WE SPEAK!

This episode will feature a tour of my school’s main engineering/manufacturing construction lab as well as photos of my school’s FRC team who were all hard at work cleaning up and preparing for the new FRC season! You’ll see some of the new freshmen who will be joining our team and returning members I had actually asked our Robotics Club president if she wanted to be in it, but she said no, as she was camera-shy. :))

P.S. The guy in the yellow shirt is named Alex, he’s Wasian :)) (1/2 White and 1/2 Asian) and the guy you see talking in video in the black shirt is David. The guy with the very light green jacket is a freshman and I believe his name is Nick. I forgot who the guy in the orange shirt’s name is, but he didn’t really want to be in the video, even though I put him in.

You also might see our Robotics Team president. Her name is Jennifer, but we all call her Jen or Jenny. She has blond hair and is wearing a yellow shirt.

So yeah, that’s it for now. Expect this video up by 11pm!

The title of this episode will be: Episode 2: Engineering Lab Tour
