High School Class of 2018

Hey guys, hope all is well. I have a terrible Calculus AB teacher and I wanted to know if any of you in calculus know of any good YouTube channels or websites I can use to learn the material

@MatthewW12 PatrickJMT and Khan Academy are math legends! Try them out!

@ak2018 I do the following:

Varsity Soccer (Captains are yet to be named)
Varsity Track and Field (Captains are yet to be named)
JV Basketball (Captains are yet to be named)

Student Foundation- President
Titans (group for colored males of all backgrounds)
Math Tutor
I want to start a math team, but it might not happen (sad parts of being in a small school)
My friend and I are going to join a Physics Competition even though we have never taken a Physics class (for the experience)

@apple1893 You are going to be really busy with year round sports and academics. You must have great time management.

@kassh4 I like to think so lol. I do a lot of hw on the bus rides to our games

Since I know most of us will be having the day off tomorrow, we’ll be doing the M.N.H.C. tomorrow night.

Tom Richey(APUSH youtuber) is having a APUSH review over periods 1 and 2. It might be helpful for everyone that has a test coming up. According to his website the review starts at 8 pm Central time. Might be helpful to tune in

I’m thinking of starting a program at my high school to go to the middle schools once or twice a week after school to help tutor anyone that needs tutoring. Anyone else have experience starting a club or something like that?

Just a heads up that LEDA opens their application this week! It’s a summer program for low-income and/or first-generation Juniors.

Since I have a bunch of homework due tomorrow and I actually want to sleep on time, The M.N.H.C. starts now!

Newbie to the thread here - what exactly do we do for M.N.H.C.?

Thank you! @apple1893

@Marg532 Usually, we do this thing called the S.N.H.C. or the Sunday Night Homework Club/Crew, but since most of us had today, Labor Day, off from school and still likely didn’t do any of our homework, we have the M.N.H.C. or the Monday Night Homework Club/Crew. You won’t probably have to worry about it until next Sunday, since you start school tomorrow.

Ok lol but like what do we do? Just talk about what homework we have?

Might as well let you in on how much homework I have:

Spanish 2: Finish Short Writing Prompt - Due TOMORROW

Functions/Trigonometry: Start Practice Worksheets on Even and Odd Functions and F(x) Transformations - Due Wednesday (Homework is optional however, must be done ON TIME in order to retake any test.)

Engineering Explorations 1/Robotics: Finish PowerPoint on The History of Robotics - Due **TOMORROW/b

AP English Language and Composition: Finish Last Two One-Paragraph Writing Prompts - Due Wednesday (My teacher gave me an extension on this and said to turn it in next class. Bless her heart! :D)

PLTW Principles of Engineering: Do Some Practice Problems on Mechanical Advantage and The Force-Distance Ratio (I’m okay with this topic, but I just need a little more practice.)

U.S. and Virginia History: Get Syllabus Signed (Apparently, doing so will give me an extra A in the class.)

AP Chemistry: Study for Balancing Equations and Nomenclature Quiz TOMORROW!

@Marg532 It’s just kind of a little thing we do to since most of us procrastinate on our homework. It’s just a time where we kind of all get together and do our homework. I think our theme song should be the “We’re All In This Together” Song from High School Musical :))

I actually did a lot of my homework yesterday but the stuff I have left I just really don’t want to do even though I need to keep my grades up.

I’ll join! I’ve been doing homework throughout the weekend and I still have some for apush,ap chem, and AP lang. Then again it’s only 2 o’clock so…

@sewin2music I have APUSH and APULL (which is both english APs at my school) as well. What do you have to do? I also have enriched Spanish.

@singingwriting I have to study the heck out of 4 chapters of APUSH for our upcoming unit exam on Wed/Thur; write reflections for crash course/Adam Norris videos for extra credit(if I really mess up on the exam  ); finish rhetorical analysis on 3 articles/speeches, and read 4 chapters of The Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass. Yay. And you?
