Well my day has gone pretty well so far. In 3rd period, we learned about the different types of engineering sketches (isometric, rapid visualization, concept sketches). It was honestly kind of confusing to me, as I have terrible artistic ability, but I eventually learned what to do. POE was basically just taking apart stuff the whole time. I’m about to take my quiz in AP Chem. WISH ME LUCK!
Well, a few more of my grades popped up.
Functions/Trigonometry
Analyze Functions Quiz - 88% - B+
Piecewise Functions Quiz - 75% - C
Current Grade: 83% - B
I honestly thought I was going to better on the Piecewise Functions, but I guess not. I’m not that worried though. As long as I do well on the test next week, my quiz grades WILL be bumped up.
Engineering Explorations 1/Robotics
History Presentation - A - 100%
Isometric Sketch - B - 80%
Current Grade: 90% - A
That horrible isometric sketch I did literally messed my grade up. If only I asked for help sooner rather than later… I’m going to try and practice and will hopefully get better.
After that Chem quiz I just took, looks like I’ll be at a B+ in AP Chem. I predicted that I’d get a B. My grades are definitely dropping faster than usual. All I need to do is survive 7 more weeks!
I haven’t had any tests or quizzes yet so all of my grades are still at 100% we’ll see how long that’ll last lol. I’m currently doing (procrastinating) on my first at-home lecture for my flipped Honors Precalc class. So instead of math putting me to sleep in class, math is putting me to sleep at home. If anyone ever has insomnia, I’ll send you the link to some of his videos. They’ll put you right to sleep!
I also have to take notes on an AP Chem powerpoint, do some conclusion questions for Medical Interventions, and do some research for my AP Lit project.
@ak2018 @frazzledazzle @Marg532 hey guys thanks so much for the support and advice. i have decided to switch to anatomy and luckily my counselor said it’s ok to switch now. i’m definitely happier and less stressed with this decision and i’m thankful that you guys endured my freak outs and took the time to respond :x
@frazzledazzle that’s awesome! I wish my school offered anatomy
I’m making a single person M.N.H.C., cause I missed school today for Eid. I’ve got to do my spanish homework, study for a spanish test, do the AP chem weekend problem, read 10 pages of AP Lit, and look over APUSH
@nyuhopeful44 My school has an hour-long anatomy class that is mainly taken by students who want to work in medicine. Mainly people from my school who take that class are upperclassmen who want to be nurses. There’s so many people from my school who want to do that. Me, I like rocks orbiting flaming plasma balls in the dark vacuum of space.
@frazzledazzle I’m happy I could help!
And I think I’ve figured out a way to study for my weekly chapter tests in APUSH!!! I take notes using the Cornell Method, but minus the summaries at the end of each section. So instead, I’ve decided to fill out a sheet that is a review/summary of the chapter being tested the night before the test, using my notes. This will be lots of help, I can tell!
@nyuhopeful44 The same thing literally happens with me and my flipped AP Chem class and the videos. They’re like 20 minutes each and UNBEARABLE.
@fuzzypolarbears You’re welcome! Glad we could help!
Rant: I HATED MY ORIGINAL BUS!
So over the last two weeks, I decided to ride a new bus. The bus stop is 1.1 miles away from my house, so I only had to walk a tenth-of-a-mile longer to get there around the same time. The bus I rode originally had WAY too many people on it. There were at least 65 kids. My new bus has the same problem, but at least I sit by myself on most days. On my old bus, all of us were sitting two or three to a seat. I couldn’t take it anymore. They made it even worse by adding a new stop and making it so we would have to be there by 5:59am.
Anyone thinking about summer programs already? I’m already looking into one. Starting to think it’s too early in the year to think about that stuff, though.
@frazzledazzle i think it’d be super fun to do a summer program but i don’t have any colleges or universities near me and i don’t think my parents would let me go somewhere
on the other hand, i’ve become interested in the act. can anyone explain how the writing is scored to me?
@fuzzypolarbears I don’t know anything about the ACT. My school is more SAT oriented. Sorry.
I’m so excited! I finally finished taking PSAT practice test #1 and got a 1480/222. I did a section a day, so it’s not completely accurate, but I’m relieved because I didn’t study as much as I thought I would this Summer. A little surprised because on SAT practice tests I can only pull a 1400. I’m going to take practice test #2 3 or 4 Saturdays from now and treat it like the real one so I have a more accurate idea of where I’m at.
@Hamlon That’s awesome! Are you taking the PSAT that Wednesday in October? I am. What are you doing to prepare? I am planning on starting soon. What does the 222 mean in your score? It’s awesome that you got such a good score!
@frazzledazzle I think thats his Score Index. Thats what is used for NMSF.
I think 222 would have qualified @Hamlon for NMSF in EVERY State!!! Good job.
Im super close to my state’s cuttoff like one or two points super nervous but i havent prepped for the SAT/PSAT at all. I focused a lot on the ACT during the summer but i havent had time during the year
I haven’t studied for the SAT/PSAT in a while but I got a 1460/221 last year, and the selection index in my state is 220 so that’s good but also a little scary because I’m so close.
@kassh4 Thank you!
Last year I got a 1220/179 (no studying at all). The selection index for my state last year was 214. I think that, if I study, I could potentially score in the 1440s and boost my index score.
@snowfairy137 what were scores for math and reading/writing
@kassh4 750 in reading/writing and 710 in math
