@snowfairy137 CONGRATULATIONS!!!
@snowfairy137 Congrats!
@nyuhopeful44 Are you taking the PSAT? I would see how you do on that. Maybe the SAT would be better for you, since it seems the science section of the ACT seems to be your main problem.
My Pre-Calc teacher is absent, so I got to do my Latin homework that I forgot to do last night. Hopefully the rest of the day follows this trend.
@LeopardFire I’m taking it in october. I got a 1280 on the PSAT 10 which is roughly a 27 on the ACT, so worse
@snowfairy137 Awesome job! That’s amazing!!!
@nyuhopeful44 There’s still time to study for the PSAT. It’s 4 weeks away.
I went to a college admissions workshop last night and now I have to completely redo my college list in terms of reach, match, and safety schools. ugh. My mom isn’t letting me apply to Caltech now by saying that I “won’t get in” and that I’m “not the type of person for Caltech.” I still REALLY want to apply, though! The school looks amazing!!! D:

Accidentally double-posted. Oops!
After lots of construction, my school’s library is finally open! It is way bigger, and there is so much cool seating! It’s so nice to do my homework there during study halls and after school! But now I have to go to work >.< save me
@snowfairy137 Dang…that’s some crazy talent right there. I got 33 first try but bombed the essay (17) so I’ll take it again sometime soon.
I’m going to retake it in December. Anyone with me? Right now I’m going to focus on my SAT Subject tests. I’m taking World History and US History on November 5th. I took AP World freshman year and APUSH last year so I’m definitley going to have to re-study some of the information.
@snowfairy137 OMG CONGRATS
Should I use the free score reports option from CB? I’m taking the SAT in January and 3 subject tests in June, but I don’t know if I’m going to retake. I was just going to pick one or the other for the August (Supposedly replacing the January date) or the September date Senior year. Would a university get all my AP, SAT, and SAT2 scores or does each test use up a score report? I’m really confused. I also don’t have the money to not use these so… help? :-S Would really appreciate any advice.
@Marg532 I literally love my school’s library!. Back in middle school, it was my SANCTUARY! My high school’s library has also become a home base to go to in the middle of the day to just unwind. I go to the library everyday after I finish eating my lunch. My middle school librarian also works there as well. She just got the job this year and I was so happy when she did. I legit tell her everything that’s going in my school life.
@Hamlon If I remember correctly, I believe you technically don’t have to send AP score reports to all of the colleges you apply to. You would have to check the policies for the different colleges you plan to apply to, but I believe a good portion of colleges simply ask for applicants to self-report AP scores on the application. Obviously, in order to prevent people from lying about their scores, you will eventually have to submit your AP scores. However, you will only have to submit your scores to the school you decide to attend. It makes sense if you think about. There are some colleges out there that don’t even take AP scores into consideration when it comes to reviewing your application. Also, I personally think it would be a waste of money to send all of your AP scores to all of the colleges you apply to as your AP scores will only matter to the college you attend as they are they ones who will be awarding you credit for all your hard work.
Just a reminder: anyone wanting to get in on the UVA Outreach Chat, you must sign up quickly! In order to do so, you would have to create a myUVA account. The chat starts at 8pm EST!
OMG I’m currently in the chatroom to one of the deans! The chatroom is starting to fill up. We’re currently introducing ourselves and stating what high school classes we’re in!
@Hamlon im assuming you dont get to see the scores before you choose which schools get to see them? Thats was what happened on the act for me and I used thr free reports to send scores to my safetys and matches cause I was pretty positive my score would be high enough for them.
Just wanna say I have bookmarked this thread. I am enrolled in AP US, AP Physics, AP Calc BC, AP Lang and Comp, AP Computer Science and AP Statistics along with French 4.
I am interested in learning about which subject tests you people are taking and when you are taking them. Are there any particular subject tests you would recommend me to take this year (December)?
@thenorthstar I need to take physics and math 2 but I’ve been procrastinating… (you’re supposed to take math 2 right after precalc and that was over a year ago for me hah)
@thenorthstar I’d like to take Biology, Chemistry, Physics, US History, and English but I’ll probably only be prepared for Bio, Physics and US History.
The only person who can tell for sure whether or not you’re prepared for the subject tests is you. Take your future aspirations into consideration. From your schedule though, you should probably take Math 2, Physics, and US. Perhaps even French if you feel especially confident with your grip on the language.
I got a 710 on Biology M, and I plan to take Math 2 in May, then Physics, Chemistry, and Literature in June. Also this November I’m taking World History and US History
