@LeopardFire Yeah I’m definitely not saying that I don’t care who is president, I’m just trying to rationalize with myself for the worst case scenario
@LeopardFire Our birthdays are a week apart.
@Soccer1235 I have to wait until December for the YSPA application to be open.
Tomorrow is Blast from the Past at my school. I’m going as Joyce Byers from Stranger Things. Green coat, striped shirt, Christmas lights, the whole 9 yards.
I dont like either they both are super messed up, but can everyone at least agree that the media is always making Trump look like the bad guy and they never even bring up the stuff Hilary did. Even the debates seem like they are rigged against trump, and this is coming from a Obama supporter.
I have been keeping track of the election more closely than I have any other, and let me just say how happy I am that I don’t have to vote this year. I don’t think I would be able to convince myself to choose the better of two evils, because where one is less evil, they have plenty more evil in other places. I see this as a “practice presidential election” for me, to prepare for the 2020 election, where I will have to vote.
@kassh4 Exactly!!! I brought this up in my class on how liberally biased our media is, and I almost lost my head!!! @-)
Doesn’t really fit in with the political discussion, but I just got a 1510 with a (PSAT) SI of 227 on the 4th khan practice SAT test. I think the curve was nice cause I did reallly bad (14/20) on the math no calculator section) but this makes me a lot better about the PSAT Wednesday!! I’ll do another practice test tomorrow because just spamming practice tests was how I did well on the ACT, and my timing still needs work (I finish with TONS of time remaining for all the sections but no calculator where I run out of time haha)
@snowfairy137 you live in california right what do you think the SI will be for our state
because I think I got around a 1480 on the SAT predicting around 760 English 720 Math i’m hoping for the PSAT i can get 38 on writing 37 on reading 35 on math which is a 1450 and SI of 220 what do you think the monimum SI will be?
No, I live in WA state. Our cutoff was 220 last year, CA’s was 221. Of course scores can change slightly from year to year, but you’re pretty close. Good luck!
gah i’m pretty good with the writing section but reading fricks me up so much because i get so distracted and can’t focus! hopefully i’ll be able to get my act together…
i can only pray

The reading section is definitely my weakest point. I do really well on the grammar and math portions, but on my practice test on Saturday, I missed 8/47 of the reading questions.
@Soccer1235 Oh I definitely agree. I feel like, however, it might affect things slowly. Your life won’t rise or fall dramatically, but, as we all know from The Butterfly Effect, the choices that are made by us and around us will some sort of an impact on everyone else, whether it be big or small.
@LeopardFire In all honesty, I would be okay with voting third party in this election, maybe after researching all of the other candidates. I feel we should vote for who we want, not for who we think is more likely to win. I mean, it’s one of our only direct “says” we have in government.
@Tobster18 It’s perfectly fine. I actually have many Republican friends. At our school, it’s actually the opposite, being that a lot of students are very right-leaning. Since of this, I get to have friends from all sides of the spectrum. But yeah, if anything, congress definitely has a lot more control.
@kassh4 I kind of agree. I think ever since his comments about Mexico last summer, he’s kind of been seen as a bad guy from the start. I think it’s more of a first impression thing. I feel like ever since then, he’s put a target on his back.
@Marg532 I honestly don’t really like the idea of “the lesser of two evils”, because you’re still picking evil either way. I would say use the lesser of (any number) evils as a last resort once you’ve looked at all of your options. Then, if you dislike all of them, you’ll have the lesser of four evils instead. Even though two of them have no chances of winning, I’d rather vote for the candidate I feel is best, than the candidate who is a shoe-in to win.
@Tobster18 I’m sorry if I alienated you. ^^’ We are all entitled to our own beliefs.
My worst section from last year’s PSAT was the calculator math section, but this year I have a graphing calculator, so maybe it will be easier.
I feel like I’ll do better on Math than English. I’ll see how I may do tomorrow after I take a practice test tonight (I’ve been procrastinating).
We just did PSAT review in Pre-Calc, and I had no idea what I was doing. ;-; I wish I could just do a ton of reading and writing passages instead.
I just realized I’m really not retaining ANYTHING in school this year. It’s making me nervous for finals and AP exams. Is anyone else feeling the same way?
@LeopardFire 9 a.m.
On the democrats controlling congress thing, there’s a cool Vox video on how it is likely to happen, but after that ends Democrats won’t be in control of much anything bc they’ve stopped focusing on local governments which cumulatively are very powerful.
lol grinding the Reason Prep PSAT crash course tonight. Probably should have studied for it earlier.
@neptuna oh my gosh i feel the exact same way. i don’t know why but this year i just seem to forget everything i learn and it’s driving me crazy
