High School Class of 2018

I havent had to pull an all nighter yet. Latest ive stayed up due to school is 1, which ig isnt that bad. Ive been tracking my sleep and i get an average of 6.5 hours of sleep including weekends, which isn’t too bad everyone told me that junior year you would get like 4 hours of sleep every night.

This year has been tough on my sleep cycle, I usually go to bed around 2-3, but now that marching band is over i may get lucky and go the bed at 12, and on a really good day maybe even 11:30ish.

Don’t mind me, just binge watching Netflix so I don’t have to face the fact that I’m an entire week behind on the readings for AP Bio.

Ok, seriously, I’m freaking out about this. I need motivation. I can’t start it tonight because it’s too late for my brain to comprehend anything, but I absolutely need to get it done tomorrow even if it takes the entire day. I just don’t feel like I can. Help. :-S

@neptuna Just imagine, once you get it done, you don’t have to worry about it anymore, and realistically speaking giving you more time to relax. The way i see it is, if you get it done faster, you can relax longer.

@neptuna What I did last time was I literally shut myself in a quiet room, grabbed the textbook + bio notebook, a bottle of water, pens and highlighters, and just absorbed the info and took notes. I purposely didn’t take my phone because I knew I would be checking up on my notifications every minute. I actually completed a chapter in about an hour, plus notes, which was a really big thing for me because I take forever. Just put your mind to it and forget about the rest of the chapters that are due for the moment.

This summer, I’m planning to take driving classes and do some sort of program. I’ve been taking summer classes for the past 2 years and I’m so glad to focus on other things.

@kassh4 I usually go to bed before 10, but I’m probably gonna go to bed before 2.

I’m really pumped that I don’t have school today!!! Watching old gaming livestreams while procrastinating doing the homework that I should be doing though… haha

I haven’t needed to pull an all nighter this whole year. I had to stay up until 4:00AM once during freshman year, but this year the latest that I have gone to bed is like 2:00AM (Tuesday), and that’s because I was watching the presidential election the whole night. Maybe my school just doesn’t give as much homework, but I am in six AP classes and I can usually get 8-9 hours of sleep if I don’t procrastinate.

@DaEmmJay23 The contest was held through a local radio station. I would love to meet Drake Bell, Drake and Josh was my life. :o

The only time I’ve done an all nighter this year wasn’t on purpose, nor school related. I’ve actually been going to sleep really early this year for some reason. :stuck_out_tongue:

Parent-teacher conferences are next week. I don’t think any of my teachers particulary dislike me, hopefully that’s accurate! ^^’

@LeopardFire LOL u guys have parent teacher conferences in high school

@BucketsUCSC I wish my school did that. Less kids would drop out and there would be less apathy towards academics if parents were on board.

I managed to read 5 sections of my AP Bio textbook tonight. Not as much as I would’ve liked, but it’s progress. Just 11 more to go lol

Robotics competition day!!!

Ay Drake Bell came to my school too! I was taking PSATs at the time though…

My school has Parent/Teacher conferences too.

Pretty sure I flunked the PSAT. Any tips on studying for the Math Subject Test?

@Hamlon I’ve definitely heard of teachers in my school calling parents of low performing students to schedule conferences but student teacher conferences for every kid’s parents seems kind of crazy considering that each kid has around 6 different teachers. How does that work at your school @cliffnotes

@BucketsUCSC Basically teachers sit in the lunchroom, and whoever’s parents show up get a brief overview of how their student is doing in class.

@BucketsUCSC @cliffnotes A similar thing takes place at my school. Usually on Columbus Day, which ends up being a teacher workday, my school will has “first come, first serve” parent-teacher conferences. They just come in the cafeteria, talk with their child’s teachers, and be on their way. The whole thing is mean to be pretty brief.
