Did anyone take the AP Macro and Government exams last year? How easy are they? I’m taking the corresponding dual credit courses this semester and want to know how much time I need to budget. Which prep books should I get?
This is probably what I will take
AP English Language
AP Spanish
AP Euro
AP Psych (semester)
AP Physics
Honors Organic Chemistry
:-S It will be tough next year
For the semester I have left, I may take Honors Philosophy or a study hall perhaps (maybe faculty assistant?)
Im going to take
AP English Literature
AP Physics 2
AP Econ (semester) / AP Gov (semester)
Life Skills (semester, required) / AP Psych (semester)
AP 2D Design
AP Environmental Science
WOOOHOOO its going to be so great!!! (not)
7 AP LIFE!!!
It’s going to be a real struggle trying to fit perfectly all my classes in my schedule but I really dont want to take anything else.
What are the easiest AP classes? I’ve already taken/am taking/planning to take:
APUSH, AP stats, AP Lang, AP Lit, AP Chem, AP Calc AB, AP Physics 1, AP Computer Science A, AP Gov, AP Music Theory.
I have 2 open spots on my schedule next year, but I have 5 spots filled with AP/Dual Enrollment. None of them seem particularly difficult, but if I’m going to take 6 or 7 AP I want the rest to be as easy as possible.
@18college1111 In different schools different APs are easier. For example, gov and stats at my school are really easy while physics is not. Which APs do you have the option for for the other two spots?
@Soccer1235 The only ones that I haven’t taken yet are European History, Art History, Bio, Macroeconomics, and some languages but I’m not interested in those. I thought I had a lot more to choose from lol
AP Lit
AP Research
AP Calculus AB
AP Physics 1
AP Government
AP Econ
Spanish 3 Honors
PLTW Biomedical Innovations
I have one more room: My options include AP Stat, AP Environmental, or staying in band (but I don’t really want. However, will it look bad as a senior that I am dropping band?) :-?
AP Lit
AP Calc AB
AP Physics 1
AP Gov
AP Econ
AP French
either AP Stats or AP Comp-Sci or AP Art History or Anatomy or Engineering Design and Technology
Does anyone have any suggestions or recommendations for my last slot in my schedule?
On another note, is anyone else taking the SAT on January 21st? I’ve been prepping over winter break, and the Math section trips me up the most. Sigh.
What subject tests are you all taking?
I’m going to take:
US History
Math 2
I’m going to try to do Physics, but I’ll have to self learn some of the topics because I’m in AP physics 1 right now
@singingwriting I’m really excited for it! The teacher for AP Euro at my school is my advisor, and taught my Modern World History class in 9th grade. It was that class that made me really love learning about European history.
@Hamlon I took AP Gov’s exam last year. The only “studying” I did was binging Crash Course the day before the exam, and I got a 4. Its super easy. If you take studying seriously, getting a 5 shouldn’t be a problem. Personally, I didn’t use any review books, but my teacher recommended 5 Steps to a 5 to my class.
@18college1111 I think it is generally agreed upon that AP Gov, AP Psych, AP Stat, and AP Envrio Sci are all “lighter” AP classes, but Soccer1235 is right that it differs by school. You should probably ask your guidance counselor or kids in your school about this.
@raffie I really don’t want to take any of them tbh, but if I have to, then US History, English Lit (that’s a thing right?), and Latin are probably my best bets.
@Kelvin82 I’ve been doing KA math questions non-stop. Only 2 weeks left! Also, I recommend APCS. Didn’t you do Girls Who Code? @raffie USH, Math 2, and Chemistry @LeopardFire Thanks!
Hey guys, planning out my senior year schedule rn:
AP Calculus BC
AP Chemistry
AP Lit
AP Physics 1???
AP Stats
Spanish 4
Symphonic Band
Unscheduled
If any of you guys have taken AP Physics 1, please let me know if you think its doable with the other AP’s I’m taking. For Calc BC I have to commute to another high school, and since half of my classes will be over there (block Schedule) I was wondering if I should also take physics…
You guys!! I got a 3.9 in dual enrollment chemistry last quarter but it got changed to an A on my high school transcript so I still have a 4.0 high school GPA!!! I’m quite excited lol.
Not official until later on in the school year but here’s what I’m thinking:
AP Lang
AP Gov
Infectious Diseases (it’s either going to be every day for one semester or every other day for the full year, so either way, I’m getting a study hall through that)
Applied Math
French 4 (college level - 6 credits from a local CC)
Vocal Jazz
Band
Chorus
The way my schedule should work out, I will have one every day study hall for the entire year, and then another study hall alternating with Infectious Diseases. It seems pretty light, but I have the same amount of study halls this year and it’s working out really well for me.
@MatthewW12 AP Physics 1 is a really hard class becuase you have to do physics at a really high level without the ability to do calculus on FRQs or in general when it’s obviously easier to use Calculus. Also, you have to spend time watching YouTube videos and/or reading the textbook to grasp the concepts. With that, I think that you shouldn’t add on AP Stats with AP Chem, AP Calc, and AP Physics 1. I have also take AP stats and with the math classes you’re taking, it’s not necessary to take it in my opinion. It’s just an add on that adds to the already three other heavy math classes you’re doing.
Everyone here seems to want to do 5+ AP classes and like are you guys sure??? Even if you’re aiming for top schools, I feel like taking 6 APs in senior year is overkill. Kids at my school take 8-10 APs throughout all of high school and a large amount still get into top schools. I also don’t think you guys should go into classes expecting them to be “easy” APs. Sure, the AP test may be easy, but is the class? That’s a big lesson that I learned this year since I took AP Psychology. My teacher has a 100% pass rate with most students getting 4’s/5’s, yet the majority of the class has grades in the B+/A- range (including mine, and I’m typically a 4.0 student yet I just barely got an A- this semester #blessthecurve). I personally couldn’t survive taking 5 APs without a study hall (which I intend to do next year) and still have time for extraccurriculars and just downright being a person.
