@snowfairy137 (x - sqrt(27)) * (x + sqrt(27)) = x^2 - 27 = (1/3)x^2 - 9
@PulseStar Honestly, I’m lowkey hoping that robots take over the world. I mean, what bad could they do that we haven’t? :))
@Tobster18 I thought of a similar idea with doing research papers.
So I just took my last Pre-Calc test of the semester and I felt pretty okay about it. At the very least, I’m going to finish out the semester with a high B and a potential B+ for the semester.
@acomfysofa Oh right. I misunderstood the comment. I thought you were implying that sqrt(27) = 3 lol.
So I just got back from school and did scheduling and I have to say my schedule is both rigorous and pretty different:
+=Weighted
PLTW Digital Electronics
+AP Computer Science A
+AP Physics C
U.S. and Virginia Government
+AP Calculus AB
+AP Economics (Micro/Macro)
+AP English Literature
PLTW Engineering Design and Development (EDD) wasn’t approved by the principal, so we got Digital Electronics instead. I kind of really wanted to take EDD, but I guess Digital Electronics will be okay. With AP Lit, after talking more with the teachers, I’ve found that taking it would be much better for me. What I’ve actually seen is that the regular English teachers tend to give more homework and busywork because their classwork is pretty easy. All I’d have to do for homework would be to read one book per month and write a final essay on it. Either way, I still have the death schedule. :))
Hey! Second year engineering student at Cornell here, ask me anything
@DaedricSaiyan How are the engineering and math classes there?
Ugh I’m so frustrated with myself because every 2 months or so, I change what I want to major in!!! I’m the kind of person that’s interested in literally everything, so it’s hard for me to pinpoint one thing that I want to do. I think I’m interested in poli sci now, which is pretty different than anything I’ve wanted to do before now. I’m just super frustrated because it’s going to make applying to college that much more difficult, because I keep finding new colleges every time I change my mind about a major! Sorry for the novel, but I just needed to rant a little bit.
I think Khan Academy added another SAT practice test.
@kassh4 I heard on r/SAT that a new practice test was going to be released by Khan Academy sometime sooner or later.
@ak2018 yeah i got a email from khan but i havent logged in to check it out.
I took Algebra 1 on 7th grade and Geometry in 8th grade!!! Review those topics is like looking at foreign language for me at times. I’m in AP Calc right now, and it’s weird to go back and brush up on topics from 4 years ago.
Thanks for the help! Problem is, I just registered today haha and I’m planning on self-studying this summer for it
I’m taking the SAT this saturday too! I haven’t been prepping for a long time, but I’m hoping to do somewhat better than last time bc last time I got a pretty bad score
@Marg532 I have the same problem! I think I settled now, but I still have so many options and interests for me to tap into so I’m really not sure. Also I’ve switched around dream colleges so often that I’m not exactly sure where I wanna go now
@ak2018 , @kassh4 yeah khan academy added a new practice test and its the October SAT(which I’ve already take ugh but you can only take it through khan they haven’t made it available for printout yet
@ak2018 pretty challenging, but the professors and TAs are very helpful. The engineering classes are pretty project/lab heavy, so you’ll get good experience there.
Apparently for my exams next week, I have to get above a 97/100 in Math and a 99/100 in Canadian History on the exams to keep my mark the same. Any lower and it goes down. No pressure at all =))
@acomfysofa Yikes!!
Good luck!
@acomfysofa Praying for you
tfw you have a Pre-Calc test to make-up before school tomorrow and you asked your teacher to upload the study guide to Google Classroom and she still hasn’t done it even though you emailed her and there are some things you are unsure about and you really need to get a good grade and AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH ;~;
Edit - just as I posted this she emailed me saying that she doesn’t have the key at home, so we can go over the answers tomorrow, it’s going to be fun for her to realize that I don’t have single clue on what I’m doing
