I procrastinated on my Spanish project, it is due tomorrow, and I just started. It should take me about three hours :((
@LeopardFire What are you guys covering rn
Yall pray for me too. I have an 89.3 in AP Chem rn and we have a 50pt summative that I need to get at least a 92% on but there’s only 12 questions so I’m not sure as to how she’s grading it. Also last quarter I got an 89.1 so it’s going to be quite and emotional rollercoaster if I don’t make the grade.
I started panicking during my APCS final and sabotaged it to get away from the anxiety. I either have a borderline A or an A- now. Pray for me.
Currently prepping last minute for the SAT this Saturday. I’m honestly nervous on the math portion. I do really well with reading/writing but the wording of the math questions is so complex. I don’t know what I was thinking when I signed up for it considering I knew I had finals these two weeks, lol
Chem final and precalc final tomorrow; someone please help me. I have borderline grades in both classes, so these finals will either make or break my grade. Also taking sat this Saturday. What in the world was I thinking? Please pray for me.
edit practice test 7 is now available for printout in PDF form on khan and for those of us who took the October SAT we can see the dumb mistakes that we’ve made.
What is everyone’s college list? I know we have all been thinking a lot about college and Im curious as to where you guys what to go.
@kitkat01 Harvard, Stanford, Columbia, Yale, UChicago, John Hopkins, and if I get rejected from all of those reach universities, local Canadian “safety” schools in my province.
Yeah I feel like we are all hoping for good schools. My Top are UCLA, Chapel Hill, USC, NYU and I am also applying to UF, UGA, NC State, and Clemson.
Mine right now is Stanford, Yale, Princeton, Columbia, UChicago, Emory, UGA, (safety), maybe USC & Harvard
@kitkat101 Georgia Tech (match), Barnard (reach), Sewanee (low match), Auburn (safety), Brown (mega reach)
I’m trying to figure out which schools to apply to. I have a very large spreadsheet that I’m filling information into so I can make my own ranking list. Despite what happens there, I’ll probably apply to MIT, Caltech, and Stanford even though I probably won’t get in. I’m also getting hooked on UCSC which is probably a safety despite me actually wanting to attend there. I’m probably going to try to find three more schools.
I may apply to Williams but I need to research the advanced courses they offer because I will probably have enough DE credits to ask for junior standing.
@PulseStar Spreadsheet buddy!!! I have spreadsheets for absolutely everything.
Spreadsheets rule! On a side note I need to learn how to use scripts for spreadsheets.
I visited my AP Physics teacher at the end of today to figure out my standing in the class. I got an 11/15 on the last assessment. He didn’t like two questions, so he made it out of 13. He always doubles the points too, so it is out of 26. For my county, we have a redo policy for assessments where you can redo up to three assessments for a class, but for his class he allows students to correct their tests to earn half the points back because you will most likely do just as bad on the redo (it’s physics like what the heck). This made my grade a 24/26 which bumped me up to a 91%. He also needs to put in corrections for the quiz before which would bring my grade up to a 93%. I got an 87% last quarter, so I have to get a 90% on the quarterly tomorrow, which is 10% of the class grade, to get an A in the class for the semester. :((
Ive already said this but my college list is MIT, Worchester Politechnic Institute, Carnigie Mellon, Northeastern, Univeristy of WA, University of OK, and Eastern WA University
My (not yet completely narrowed down but still kinda getting there) college list includes UChicago (ED), MIT, Tufts, Wesleyan, Vassar, Kenyon, NYU, Brandeis, and UMass Amherst.
@kassh4 The quiz was on converting angles and radians and unit circle stuff. It wasn’t impossible, but I made a ton of stupid mistakes so I ended up getting a C. :\ The last thing we covered in class before midterms was the law of sines and cosines.
@droporain @neptuna @Kelvin82 @DaEmmJay23 Praying for all of you too we’re all suffering together
My Pre-Calc and Financial Literacy midterms are tomorrow. The latter I’m not too worried about, but the C from that quiz dropped my Pre-Calc semester grade to an 83. That’s a bit lower than I’d like, seeing as I’m probably going to bomb the exam. There is still extra credit and a take home test to be put in, hopefully that gives me a bit higher of a buffer…
Also I’m definitely not sleeping tonight because I have to cram for Pre-Calc, these next 24+ hours are going to be very stressful
Update:
- After some thinking, I've decided I'm likely going to shorten my college list, at least my state schools. Here's what I'm thinking:
Will Apply To: Virginia Tech, GMU, JMU
“On the Fence” About Applying To: UVA, MIT, Carnegie Mellon
Will Not Likely Apply To: William and Mary, VCU
I made this list more about how I feel about the atmosphere of the school and if I can see myself going there. I know I shouldn’t judge a school, especially before I visit, but I feel like a good portion of the schools on my list were there more as “last resorts”. I would likely not even consider going to those schools if I was accepted, especially since I’ll probably end up getting into GMU, partially because I’m a legacy there. Rather than spending money on schools I don’t plan to attend, I have another plan. My plan, which is specific and somewhat convoluted, is to apply to some really good engineering schools in the Northeast that aren’t too selective and that give out pretty good financial aid, because I know schools in the Northeast are fairly expensive. I’m 99.9% sure I’ll be applying to Questbridge, so this list will definitely have lot more in it.
- I took the Big Idea #2 Test for AP Chem today. Most of the class didn't finish, so now we have to stay after school to finish the test. Our AP Chem teachers admittedly made the test pretty long, so that's probably why most of us didn't finish. I still have to the last page and thanks to this, I now have 4 extra days to study. I have a D+ in AP Chem right now that needs to a B and this test could bring my grade up a lot, especially since our teacher use it to replace bad quiz grades.
- All I can say is that this has been one heck of a semester and that I really gave it my best. The semester officially ends next Friday, but once I finish my AP Chem test, it's all pretty much over. I'm in no way, shape, or form, ready for the next semester, but it's coming whether I like it or not! :))
