My Latin class did a bracket for March Madness, but we for the overall winner based on the colleges’ Latin mottos. I think UNC Wilmington won with “Discere Aude”, which means “Dare to Learn.”
Also, if we’re going to talk about basketball, does anyone here follow women’s college basketball? I don’t but my parents, who both went to UConn, are huge sports fans. My mom watched every women’s game. I actually started watching the game against Miss State a few days ago, where the Huskies ended their 111 winning streak. ;-; I actually got really invested and was devastated when they lost. I really hope I get into UConn…

Not school related, but my Amazon.com product was restocked for the first time and it’s making sales off-the-bat! I was afraid it wouldn’t sell and I would be out lots of $$$ (SATs took a good chunk of it along with pre-“goingoutofstock” buying habits ), but guess not :))
Guess I won’t have any problems paying for SATs and review books now! Less worries about paying for it, so more time to study
So my English grade just dropped two points. It’s not too big of a deal, but I need to rant about why it dropped.
So my teacher apparently changed the way grades are weighted for her class and it wasn’t correct. We all thought that the grade that was online this entire semester was our actual grade. Now she changed it and all of our grades dropped. No other teacher uses this “weighting” system. Our teachers simply add up our points, divide them by the total points, and that’s our grade. I’d have a 96 instead of a 94 like that.
We asked her about it and she said “well that’s the way your grade is supposed to be.” No other teacher has ever used this grading system and she never really explained how the system worked. One student is going to guidance to figure this out since our teacher has not given us any answers, so hopefully we get some answers soon. Our teacher got really defensive when we asked her about it. We are all worried about our grades in that class. Some students with an A dropped to an A- and are worried that they won’t get a 4.0 in that class now. I’m relieved that my grade is still an A, but I don’t understand why she could not explain this to us.

Just finished reading all 1,012 pages of the American Pageant! I now have one month and 26 days to review everything for the US History SAT on June 3rd
Ok so I thought I had my perfect schedule planned out and I have to sign up tomorrow. But then I was looking at the AP classss available online since I had a good experience with it. As of now I am trying to decide what to take, I’m between AP European history, AP World History, and AP Human Geography. If you have any ideas of what I should take then please help me!!!
AP’s I’m taking now or are for sure taking it next year: APUSH, AP Gov, AP Lit, AP Calc AB, AP psych, and AP gov.
I think I did well today, but I already know I got a problem wrong in the math w/o calculator section. I forgot that 360 degrees was 2 pi and not one, so I put the answer as 30 degrees instead of 210 degrees (the problem was to convert 7 pi over 6 to degrees). I realized my mistake with 20 seconds remaining, too little time to change my answer. Also, in the essay, I said that national parks were as American as apple pie. Lol!
@madison2000 AP World and European history are both heavy classes. You already have APUSH which is a lot of reading on its own. I’d schedule a study hall. AP Human is more reasonable to take in the context of your other courses. Are you taking both AP Comparative and US government next year?
So for next year my set AP’s are AP Lit, AP US Gov (so I don’t think it’s comparative but I could be wrong), and Calc AB. Human Geo to me just seems easy but I could be wrong
I’m taking AP Lit, APUSH, and AP Calc AB next year. I’ve considered self-studying for Environmental Science but I’m not sure considering I’ll be filling up the rest of my schedule with courses on a college campus. I also have no science in my schedule, so I don’t know what I’ll be taking next year.
