So it seems you can apply EA for other schools when you apply ED somewhere, but different schools have different policies.
Thanks everyone for the clarification!

Because of the ED I want to do I don’t want to apply to too many EA’s, I am limiting myself most likely to two just incase.
I might apply EA to one or two schools, but I don’t plan on applying ED anywhere. I’m too indecisive haha
Do you guys think applying to two ED’s is bad?
@julia35002 Yes. If they found out, you would definitely have your offers rescinded.
@julia35002 it is not worth the risk.
Yea multiple ED’s is a horrible horrible idea.
@julia35002 I don’t even think your counselor will send off two ED applications. They understand the implications, and it would be highly unethical for them to participate in something like that.
Even if they are reach schools?
Don’t even consider it
Literally, getting into those two colleges is not worth risking everything, from your personal college admissions and your counselor’s job to your school’s reputation.
You’re letting the pressure of college admissions get to you. Don’t let it do that. Stay grounded, stay ethical, and remember that this does not define your life
@julia35002 I cannot emphasize enough what @ophilippos said. Do not do it. There is nothing worse than starting your post high school career being marked as dishonest and untrustworthy. The ED contracts are based in a large part on trust and breaking that trust is pretty much the ultimate taboo during the college process.
Hey Guys,
Quick Update: I finally got into Matriculate! I should be finding out who my advisor is later today. Also, the V-NASA club will be approved on Monday. I’m still getting everything set up.
I’m able to take IB Chemistry HL! So if I can fit the courses on my schedule next year, I will take both IB Physics HL and IB Chemistry HL.
Does anyone think taking all 3x IB HL sciences (IB Physics, Chemistry, Biology all in HL) is manageable, or should I just consider IB Physics HL, IB Chemistry HL, and maybe IB Biology SL or regular Biology?
@acomfysofa I don’t know much about IB, but if IB HL is anything like AP, then I would highly suggest only take 2 of those sciences. Depending on your teacher and courseload…taking 2 high level sciences can be a struggle, ESPECIALLY for senior year. Is there a reason you need to take 3 science in one year lol? (3 sciences is okay if like up to 2 are very high level…then some fun science electives maybe? or another honors course)
Since courseload has been brought up a lot…
Do you think colleges will look down on how few APs I’m taking next year? One main reason is that I self-studied 2 of the easy APs and took 1 of the easier APs this year…(AP Economics)? But I heard that self-studying doesn’t really count as taking the class?
My counselor said my schedule is still “the most rigorous”, but compared to most, the # of APs I have pales. Also, I decided not to take AP Physics Mechanics as I’ll be the only student not taking physics consecutively…which is very hard at my school.
Should I switch AP Stats to my #1 choice instead of back up? Will not taking AP Physics hurt me? (Planning on Computational Bio/Biochem Major) Especially if I got a good grade in Physics I? I mean, I am kinda wimping out…but I want to know the magnitude and what you guys think !
Here’s what I’m taking next year:
-AP Lit (over regular English)
-AP Gov
-AP Bio
-Bioinformatics (AP Stat as backup)
-Calc-based Stats // Data Science (my math course, I already took BC and Multivariable)
-Biochem / Forensic Medicine
APs that I self studied:
-AP Environmental Science
-AP Psychology
APs that I already took
-AP Calc BC
-AP Chem
-AP Econ (Macro and Micro)
-AP Spanish Language
Additional APs offered:
-APUSH
-AP Euro (we have 3 history options but you can only take AP History in Senior Year lol)
-AP Art History
-AP Physics Mechanics
-AP Physics E&M (Level 2, taken after Mechanics)
Thank you in advance! This schedule is putting me into so much panic like once a week I wonder if not taking AP Physics will be a mistake…and before I removed AP Physics I wondered if I would fail since I don’t remember much Physics…
Just finished my aerospace class!!!
@snowfairy137 Congrats!! I finished mine two weeks ago! I’m happy to announce that I’ll be doing the aerospace class next year, and for college credit too.
I also finally got my Matriculate advisor. Her name is Hagir and she’s from Columbia University. We’ll be video-chat on Saturday!
Does anyone know when the April SAT School Day scores will come out? I haven’t seen anything and there’s no mention of it on the Collegeboard website.
@LushLillies 3 AP classes should be plenty. I don’t think taking both AP Bio and AP Physics would be a good idea.
@frazzledazzle I found a thread on here with someone who contacted CB and was told May 3rd. I don’t know if that’s true though, since I haven’t found any official confirmations.
@ak2018 they offered college credit too but even after I asked they weren’t clear on how grading would work, so I’m like “noo! I’m not paying $250 to get a college credit if you won’t even tell me my grade!”
