If anyone is going to the Johns Hopkins HOME let me know!! I would love to meet up with CC people!
@BioRocksMySocks I was thinking about applying to that fly-in, but I donāt really know if John Hopkins is really good for Engineering, Iāll look into it.
Edit: Just checked. It looks pretty good. Iāll do some more research, but I might just apply.
Earlier today my mom asked a family if they were from New York because she saw their JHU bag. They were from New York, but I had to remind her that Johns Hopkins is in Maryland lol.
@BioRocksMySocks when did you submit your application and when did you get notification of your acceptance? I applied on July 21st and I havenāt heard anything back yetā¦
If yāall watch Adam Ruins Everything, they just did a skit about college rankings!

Iām applying to Harvard and UMICH ea, seeing what happens, and then going back to reality when i get results lol
@DancingwithStars I submitted my application August 1st, and received an acceptance this past Friday (the 11th). I hope you get a response soon!
Congrats! @BioRocksMySocks
Of the many videos about college Iāve watched, this one gives the most information by far
@thetex bruh Ryan has been my idol since 2007
Edit: I always thought that vid was another one of his exaggerations, but oh jeez, itās more true than I ever imaginedā¦
@DancingwithStars Iām still waiting for my decision as well but I applied much later than you (August 1).
@ak2018 thank you!
Has anyone else applied to any other fly in programs? I recently was accepted to the fly in program at Barnard, and Iām waiting on decisions from Williams (coming out later today) and Hamition (tomorrow)! So nervous!
@DancingwithStars Congrats! Iāve applied to five so far and Iām currently waiting on Amherst and Pomona. Still have to do Harvey Mudd, Carleton, and Bowdoin. After that, Iām done because my school counts excess college visits as truancy. 8-|
@Hamlon What if itās once in a lifetime opportunities that keep flying by?
@Hamlon to which 5 Fly-in programs have you applied thus far?
@gigichuck Other opportunities always come to you. If I had quit choir, I wouldāve missed out on the opportunity to sing under the direction of one of my favorite composers(not trying to give out too much info lol). āWhen one door closes another door opens, but we so often look so long and so regretfully upon the closed door, that we do not see the ones which open for us.ā
@Volunteerism I was accepted to Williams, MIT, and Swarthmore. Havenāt heard back yet from Amherst/Pomona.
If anyoneās feeling stressed about starting college apps/essays, start with your safeties. Just hearing back from a school and being accepted is great motivation. It also gives you some good essay material to edit and refine for later use.
@hamlon I was also accepted to Dsicover Swarthmore. Hopefully we can meet up!
When my safeties will open applications in Octoberā¦but have a QB app to finish in September.
@DancingwithStars besides Hopkins Iāve applied to George Washington Universityās fly-in (will receive notification end of this month) and also to the UPenn PEEP Program (have to wait until September 18th
). I donāt want to apply to any other fly-ins because Iām afraid of missing school and any more cross country practices (since Iām captain, donāt think that would look role-model-like lol). Congrats on your other acceptances and hope you receive good news from Williams and Hamilton!
@Hamlon good luck with yours as well!
