Just submitted my app to Howard. Think I’m going to submit my app for UT Austin tomorrow.
I finished my Stanford app and my CommonApp essay! I’ll send it in a couple days before the deadline (just in case of payment issues), but I’ll only be making small refinements to my essays from now to the day I send it in
^ * I won’t be sending it in right now because I’ll still be making small refinements to my essays from now to the day I send it in. Though I’ll send it in a couple days before the deadline and not right on the deadline just in case there are payment issues.
I applied to South Dakota schools of mines and Tech and Montana State yesterday! Both safeties for me and it feels good to have it done. Now I just need to meet with my counselor about sending them my transcripts!
Just took the sat… Gonna take a nap now
Did anyone else get application fee waivers from CB in the mail? If so, how are we supposed to use them? Do I just hand them to my counselor?
@Hamlon I think someone told me when you go pay for your application, it will have a spot for fee waivers.
@kassh4 Thanks
Has anyone else already submitted the Regents/Presidential application for UNM? I noticed it references 3 essay topics but lists 4, and the application only has room for prompts 1, 2, and 4. I’ve only drafted the first essay so far, so I have plenty to do yet, but I’m just wondering if that’s a mistake and that there should be 4 essays.
Do you guys listen to music while writing your essays? I need some music suggestions! The music I listen to has lately been making me antsy and I just can’t focus when writing while listening to it. At the same time, I can’t focus when I’m not listening to music.
@dancinginastorm I have terrible taste in music but I recommend anything without lyrics or in a different language so you don’t get distracted. From there, pick a mood for your essay and pick similar music… I guess? Like Chopin works for anything, Erik Satie has a melancholy feel, and if I’m writing smth cheerful I’ll listen to electronic or vg osts like acnl ^^;
@dancinginastorm Two words. Movie. Soundtrack. They are literally designed to add to the atmosphere and not distract from it. My favorite movie composer is John Williams, but he’s done a lot of iconic stuff so he might still be a little distracting. I’d just search up movie soundtrack in whatever music service you use and press go
@agentaquastar @ski_racer Thank you guys so much!!!
School is kicking my butt lately! Every waking moment I’m either at school, doing homework, or procrastinating doing my homework :)) it’s really bad and I need to kick the habit but it’s so hard!
@Marg532 You got this, you can do it!!
Me, at the beginning of my 4 day weekend: omg maybe I’ll get a whole bunch of work done and then I can relax!
Me, at the closing of the 3rd day of my 4 day weekend: well, I’m gunna be really busy tomorrow 8-|
@dancinginastorm Thanks! I hope that happens soon lol because it’s not happening this weekend haha
Does anyone have a strategy for beating procrastination?
So guys (and gals)… something really weird happened with my application.
I was going to apply to Bloomsburg. I filled out the application but did not submit it or pay the fee. I decided not to apply. So for the last two weeks, I had been getting calls and emails from them to submit my application.
This morning, I got an email from them that they have received my application and are awaiting my test scores and transcript. Apparently, I had submitted my application on Friday.
I never even logged back on to my application on Friday. I never submitted it or paid the application fee, but according to them, I submitted my application.
I just think this is really weird. I had already decided that I did not want to apply there, and now they already have my application. I don’t know what to do.
I’m having major anxiety issues over my SAT. Like I’m so nervous I can’t wait for the results. It’s affecting everything. Now I can’t even concentrate to finish my early apps because what if I FAIL the SAT?
Is anyone here attending Voices of Tufts?
