I’m ready to hit send on my Emerson App but I’m waiting on my last rec letter from my former English teacher… The suspense is killing me already!!!
However, I’m still majorly procrastinating on my scholarship applications! Yay me!
Oh my god. I think I’m the biggest idiot alive (prepare for an oncoming rant about myself haha)
So I was checking my spam folder of my email and found an email from Emerson saying that my English teacher sent in his rec letter two days ago, so naturally I go through, double check everything, and submit my application.
This then brings me to a page that has a checklist of all of the things needed for the application still, which includes… My application fee of $65. At this point I screeched to a halt in my brain and was like UM WHAT??? So, assuming it was a mistake on their side (I got a Premier App in the mail with a code that would among other things waive my app fee), I sent the admissions office a message.
But then I check the letter again and it has a link that, when I went there, didn’t lead to Emerson’s page for normal people applications (EA and RD), but led to a completely different page that was specifically for the Emerson Premier App. Which then clicked in my brain and made me realize that I FILLED OUT THE WRONG APP.
I’m such an idiot. I hope the Admissions Office is nice about things and 1. Removes my fee waiver on their end and 2. Doesn’t take my stupidity of filling out the wrong app into consideration when considering me bc I can’t follow directions. I feel like none of these are applicable though and I straight up want to curl up in my bed and eat the rest of my Christmas chocolate because I feel like a huge idiot and am scared that this will affect my admission into my now-favorite college.
Rant over, sorry I put you through all of that. I know I’m probably being overdramatic but my mind is all panicky at this moment in time. AHHHHH :((
Kind of upset because a paper that went with a physics lab that I did a while ago got lost (without the paper, my report gets a 30/65), I’m 100% sure that I left it on my teacher’s desk when she wasn’t there (which is pretty normal), but she apparently doesn’t have it and the grades for that quarter are due pretty much now, and all of my original data was on it so I can’t really just make another graph or something. It’s definitely not her fault for not finding it because I should have told her that I left it on the desk the next day. I can’t even figure out how much this will hurt my grade since the grade website is down right now. I emailed her about it being on the desk just now, but it’s probably lost forever at this point so I don’t really know what’s going to happen.

I got a little too lit over Christmas break and now my sleep schedule is upside-down and backwards, made evident by the fact that it’s the middle of the night and I’m sitting here on CC.
On another note, my online Spring DE classes have officially started. I am in one freshman elective, a sophomore elective, and a sophomore core class/graduation requirement. These classes seem a lot harder than my previous DE classes and the syllabi/course schedules are rather disorganized. I’m also taking DE Statistics at my physical school, which is equivalent to AP Statistics, but it’s only one semester long.
Also, due to the break, I am still technically enrolled in AP US Government and AP Macroeconomics on FLVS. However, I don’t have much left to cover before the classes are over, so I want to get them out of the way as soon as possible.
It seems as if I have my work cut out for me this semester, but I really think I’ll do just fine.
So, my school has state testing this week. Basically, if you’re not taking that, you get to have a two hour delay. I got a call from my mom saying that we’re also getting out early since it’s supposed to start snowing and stuff around 12. It didn’t really affect me though since I usually get out at that time anyway (dual enrollment). I got Dunkin and drove to school … and there’s barely anyone there. What? So, I check the school website and find that if we didn’t take the state testing this morning, we don’t have to go in at all.
At least I have Dunkin and some extra time to work on stuff or sleep, I guess.
@MangoLover11223 no like I said the original work was on the paper, not a digital document. It was tables, graphs, and sketches that I did by hand.
Hey guys. School just closed early again today and now I’m working on my NASA class at the library.
Today school just sucked the life out of me. I just spend two hours snacking and laying in my bed (two separate activities lol) and I haven’t even started on my homework. I think this week is going to be tough lol
Hi guys, I was wondering if any of you guys who have gotten into universities so far could message me your stats and any general advice for applications.
I’m doing a student spotlight thing (anonymous) for incoming seniors to see what it takes and could really use some more! My school doesn’t really have anyone applying to Ivies and American universities in general and I’ve received a lot of questions regarding my OWN stats but it’s really subjective since everyone is different. Anyone else watch the college football championship? WOW! I’m a big Bama fan and I literally collapsed out of my chair multiple times during this game. The stress was real, y’all.

@ski_racer ah, I completely get that! Bama is a school I applied to, so I’m definitely partial to them. If I didn’t like the school, I’d probably feel the same. It’s how I feel with the Patriots (as an Eagles fan, the 2005 Super Bowl still stings). I’m just tired of them and can’t wait to see the day that they’re out of the playoffs.
@carmen00 I’m probably just frustrated that BSU had the winningest QB in college football history, yet the best they ever got was the stupid Fiesta Bowl. Kellen Moore would’ve won the Heisman if it wasn’t for Scam Newton, too. But I digress.
@carmen00 I’m a big Pats fan. I get mad about Deflategate. I think it was just a reduction in pressure because of the cold weather, like what happens to tires. Whatever. It has been years now and the Pats won that Super Bowl based purely on skill.

So as an update to my self-rant about using the wrong application for Emerson… they waived my fee for me! I didn’t get an email back from them so I was worried and was going to email them today but I checked the portal first and saw that they had waived my fee! I’m breathing a sigh of relief now - especially because I decided a 300 word essay to fulfill the Test Optional option wasn’t conducive to my sanity right now and paid the $12 for a score report to be sent for my SATs. I have a 1230 which is a little lower than what I’ve seen reported for their middle percentiles but not low enough to sit down and write a 300 word essay by next Monday! Hopefully I won’t be too far away, and my GPA and course rigor will be enough to balance it out.

I just took an IB Internal Test and the administrator told me it was one of the best ones she’d heard over the course of her years as a proctor!!!

does anyone applying to georgetown know if by 1/10 deadline they mean by 12 midnight tonight (the 9th) or 12 midnight tomorrow (the 10th)???
@chr1717 I believe that means until 11:59 on the tenth… but you should be done with your application because it’s already cutting it pretty close to the deadline
