Accepted: ODU, VCU, UVA, VTech, UNC, Naval Academy (I recently accepted the offer!)
Waitlisted: Duke
I tried to make a balanced list, and I really challenged myself to apply to some reaches. While my parents pressured me to apply to UNC and Duke, I did my own research, and the decision to apply to Naval Academy was completely my own. I guess that’s why I didn’t rly care that I was waitlisted… but I’m excited (and a little nervous) for USNA! (plus now I don’t feel like I’m burdening my family with the cost of college.) My parents were worried, but I think everything will turn out well, and they’re happy for me now. I do feel a little bit of impostor syndrome(?), esp since it’s easier for girls to get accepted to service academies. But I’ll try my best to be worthy of going there.
Congratulations everyone, and good luck on your decisions!
I ended up being 10/18. 10 acceptances, 3 waitlists, and 5 rejections. Very happy because I will be going to an amazing school for free. Good luck to everyone!
Once I have committed to my Regular Decision college do I have to withdraw my application from all the other colleges I was accepted to? Or do all of the applications cancel after May 1?
Please tell me I’m not the only one who hasn’t committed to a college yet :-/ I still haven’t gotten my financial aid package from Emerson yet so I’m in limbo until I know for sure. I’m worried I might not even get my package by May 1 because I handed in some things really late, and even if I do I’m not sure if I will have enough time to negotiate if it’s close to being affordable but not quite. Add onto that the pressure from all my family and a bunch of my friends to just commit to my state college instead without waiting to find out from Emerson, and I’m a Stressed Teen™
Hey everyone,
So since most people have had an interview of some sort for the college process, I was wondering if anyone had any tips for an upcoming interview I have? I’ve only ever done a couple of interviews before but they weren’t legit interviews if that makes sense… they were just formalities.
Just to give a bit of background: I applied for a pretty intense internship that only chooses a handful of people from over 300 people, and recently I got an email inviting me to a phone interview. I’ve never had a phone interview so I don’t know how that would work but… that’s basically the gist lol
So does anyone have any tips or advice? I know this interview will obviously be different from college type interviews but I guess some questions can also be asked in both situations (I.e. why do you want to come here?)
So… any feedback?
Thanks!
