Finally on spring break (can’t sleep in though, sadly, 8:30am practice everyday…). Now I have a quarter left to get my B in Geometry Honors to an A
I really liked geometry. My teacher put a big focus on proofs and trig but less-so on some more complicated formulas.
I find myself learning some of it as I go, though. :<
Spring break ends tomorrow…noooooo :((
I have to run the Pacer tomorrow. I’ve got some kind of respiratory infection and I get dizzy and headachy when I move too much. Noooooooo. My doctor has stated that he won’t give me any more notes for headaches or respiratory issues… :(… he says it’s to preserve his credibility (??? I only got 3 this whole year ???) and my gym teachers don’t accept excuses unless they’re from a doctor.
I mean
I’m gonna run
But I’ll complain about it the whole time
Just run once and then fake your death. Probably has worked before
I might run one or two laps and then fall over.
I’m going to try to ask to sit out tomorrow. Wish me luck.
Or you can fake pass out or really anything. People will do anything at my school to get out of the pacer. Except the fake-your-death thing, I just suggested that
I went to the zoo today and had to sit down a few times while walking, so hopefully I can convince them. I’ve got one of those awful coughs that is almost impossible to fake and I’m a little bit dizzy, so hopefully they won’t think I’m faking.
Parent here: I was wonder @OMPursuit what you thought about Khan’s SAT prep for reading comprehension/writing as this is my daughter’s weakness. She has not looked at it yet.
Hey, @VANURSEPRAC !
I haven’t yet taken the real SAT, but my opinion was pretty positive. They’ve got the official practice tests as diagnostics, and they calculate you practice scores. After doing some exercises (the diagnostic unlocks them!), I found myself getting better at those questions.
They have them grouped into difficulty levels in practice, but the practice /tests/ are timed and structured just like the real SAT.
@IrrationalPepsi you’ve been with me since the beginning of this saga, so I’m going to tell you how it went.
I found my coach and said, “Hey, coach, I’m sick; I’ve got a bad cough and I got lightheaded just walking here, can I not run the Pacer today?” and he was like “yeah, sure”
I didn’t even have to fake my own death!
@awesomepolyglot Congratulations! That sounds not bad
What extracurriculars are all you guys doing? Thinking of entering any interesting contests?
My guess is that the teacher feels bad for me because he thinks I don’t have any friends
I’m doing a lot… too many to list atm.
Gonna try ova here
Playin’ in orchestra (second chair violin :()
Doin’ robotics club (we are bad)
Takin’ violin lessons
Helpin’ out at the library on occasion
NASA has a cool competition I want to enter. You’ve got to design somethin’ that’d help astronauts make food in SPACE. You need to create a CAD model that can be 3D printed.
Rn I’m apart of junior classical league, science leaugue, student council, Red Cross club (this is barely qualifies though), various volunteer work and some tutoring/mentoring here and there
I’m not between classes anymore, so I can post.
Roughly in order of days of the week:
Science Olympiad
Student coaching Science Olympiad

Science Bowl (past)
Climbing Club
Bighorn Society
Linguistics Olympiad

I plan on competing in the USAAAO next year and looking into the Earth Science Olympiad.
@awesomepolyglot, okay, so no Plan B was enacted lol
My ECs are very limited this year. I missed the Beta Club deadline and the Camp Med deadline because my school announcements are very disorganized and incorrect with the information.
-Mu Alpha Theta
-UNC Health Care Explorers Program
-Volunteering
Next year I will be in like 6
There’s something I kind of want to say about a club but I’d be almost willing to bet money that at least one officer of said club is a regular CC user and they’d recognize me so I’ll not
Basically I’m the alternate for the alternate lol
Woot! That sounds like a ton @awesomepolyglot
next year I want to try a science fair, but I’ve got a feeling I’d be bad at it
On the other hand, I met a cool graduate student and might try asking his department about lab work and/or research opportunities
