High School Class of 2019

Aww :frowning: @awesomepolyglot
Better luck next time!

@northeastgirl24 The exact opposite is no fun, either. I sort of wish I lived in a larger city; isn’t that, in a way, the best of both worlds?

Guys Google “welcome to nashville” the video is hilarious and tooooo truuuu

Did anyone watch the Star Wars Rebels season finale? IM EVEN MORE DEAD THAN I THOUGHT AHSOKA WAS.

@awesomepolyglot feel your hatred- embrace it. The spoilers will give you strength

As my school is switching to block scheduling, I may get to both double science and take calc next year, but it means doing a DE class /after school/ :<

It’d give me another elective period for during the week, though, which I want to use for a creative writing class (if this happens)

old me:
oh god, I’ve become a member

me right now:
Yeeeey! Member! Wootwoot

I’ve heard rumors that my school is considering switching to a rotating 8-period schedule soon, but I don’t think they could make it work for next year. I think it’d be interesting how they do it; the way it is now, there are two lunch periods, 5 and 6, that are split into 2 sections each; if you’re not eating lunch, you’re in homeroom. If they changed it, they’d have to completely abandon that system. In addition, my school simply does not have enough classes for it to be feasible. On the extremely off chance that they change it for my junior year, my schedule would look something like this:

APUSH
AP Chem
Precalculus
AP Stat
Astronomy(sem)/???
AP English Lang
AP Physics 1
Study Hall

Adding AP Stat, meaning I’d graduate with an extra math credit.

I’m going to ask the school if I can use my climbing team to bypass the PE requirement. In that case, I’d take Astronomy next year and take either AP Stat, Discrete Math with Statistics and Probability, or start a new language; however, the last one’s unlikely as I wouldn’t continue it senior year. My school is super strict about what activities count, so it’s unlikely to consider climbing.

I do not even know what I am going to take junior year. I originally planned:

-Honors Discrete Math
-AP Stats
-AP Psychology
-AP Lang
-Spanish I
-Spanish II
-AP Biology Prep
-AP Biology

DE Calc II & III

But the plan changed pretty drastically, even though I thought that that one was fool-proof.

my gc has changed my schedule three times since I said ‘okay here’s my final schedule’ last

I feel all your pain

I don’t even know if I can change my schedule at this point…

Beating a dead horse again, but another reason why I hate English is the subjectivity of it. They try to make the exams objective, but you cannot really understand the references and allusions unless you have a great breadth of knowledge. I guess that is why you’re supposed to read, but some of the references are very hit or miss – you either know it exactly or you have no clue. At least, that’s how it is here. Granted, they are pretty objective, but it’s just ghetto.

@IrrationalPepsi I can usually interpret those, but the really killer- oh, man- those trivia questions.
They really are trivia questions. I can’t remember all that! I read the book for the story, not the color of Mrs. Pelletier’s shoes. >:(

Lol those in-text questions are just dumb. Too bad they haven’t used them on the final exams since the fifth grade. Now it’s like: “How does the metaphor in paragraph 26890542157 contribute to the tone of the first half of the text.” um okay dang

At my school, there’s a Cultural Heritage Week, and the last day has an assembly where people hold flags that represent their culture (or that their German teacher asked them to hold)

I wanted to do a German-speaking country (reasons above lmao) and Germany and Austria were already taken.

I am 5’4". The Swiss flag is REALLY big.

I can’t wait for this thread to explode in like a year and a half

Being 5’, I can relate lol @awesomepolyglot Im too short for most things ¯_(ツ)_/¯

I hit my growth spurt early and now stand at a looming 6’1"

tall people find themselves too often at odds with doors and ceilings for my taste :frowning:

Is it weird that I like to be short and am glad that I’m not growing anymore?

No I want to be tall

My favorite shoes (a super ugly pair of hiking boots lol) add about half an inch and it feels really weird just to be that much taller while I’m walking in my house.

I’m only 5’8 lmao

I like to think of myself as short, but 5’5 is average. I’m only an inch shorter than average. Whatever.
