High School Class of 2019

Oh gosh, yes- And some of them have such reasonable solutions, ugh! @Mathophile26
I got a little book on combinatorics from Dover Books for a couple bucks, so Ima read that and see if it helps.

y’alls ECs are so cool :0

@OMPursuit
Last year my EC list was about half as long as this years. :frowning: I’m gonna be really busy.

And- AMC is over my head. I did Mathcounts in middle school and placed pretty high in state, but it’s too difficult now. I can do Calc 2, but not probability and counting on AMC.

Oh! Forgot to say, I’m joining what’s called Best Buddies at my school, where we “buddy” up with a student with a mental difficulty at my school and have parties with them and stuff. :slight_smile: I’m really excited to do that.

@ZealousScholar, exactly, I can do math that’s kinda advanced (not Calc 2 yet haha), but I can’t even do the basics of probability. AP Stats will not go well for me - I can already see it.

@Mathophile26
AP Stats is not that bad. Although it’s one of those courses that is dependent on how the teacher teaches.

Currently wondering if its too late to fake my death before school tomorrow :-/

@ElloLove lol literally me rn :stuck_out_tongue:

Oh my god someone died in our pool.

oh my god what @adiacs are you all right? like the pool at your house?

I’m good just a little shook tbh thanks for asking. But no it was our community pool.The autospy said that she(17 yrs old) was electrocuted while she was testing the waters, she’s a lifeguard, and drowned while she was unconcious. I just think that if I had decided to go to the tennis courts or to the lake that day I could have found her dead body and I would probably be scarred for life. It’s just so weird when a death happens so close to home. I’m never going into that pool again, I never did before but I’m certainly not going now. It’s just so sad because she was only 17 and she was going to go off to college and had her whole life ahead of her:(

oh gosh :s @adiacs
that sucks

@adiacs That’s horrible :frowning:

Oh my gosh that’s horrifying :frowning: @adiacs

@ZealousScholar What do you guys do in Psychology Club and the American Sign Language Club? I’ve always been interested in both topics, and might be able to start them in my school…

Oh my gods @adiacs that’s horrible. I always get so depressed when someone young died bc they probably had so many opportunities and things they wanted to do and it’s just so very sad. I feel horrible for the parents tho, I can’t even imagine how heartbreaking it must be to have your child die.

That’s terrifying

@adiacs I’m so sorry to hear that. These types of tragedies are just awful :frowning: .

@whimsicalwhims
American Sign Language club is one that’s in development more; however, we hope to start by learning how useful body language is in our lives, and how it’s important to be familiar with hand signs. Later we move on to actually learning the alphabet, and basically, by the end of the year it’s just a group of friends having fun while learning a new life skill.

Psychology club is run by our AP Psych teacher who is very good at telling stories and relaying information in a personable way. So it’s basically just an extension of his classes- discussions, recent news, psychoanalysis, etc.

Only been a sophomore for five seconds and I already hate the freshmen

The freshmen are putting up campaign posters everywhere even places freshmen rarely go

I do, however, like a bunch of the eighth graders. They’re my kids!
