High School Class of 2019

Oh ok @OMPursuit. I might take the SAT at the end of this school year, and I’m definitely taking SAT Math Level 2 in May or June (not really sure yet) just so I don’t forget all the math I did before. Plus the World History subject test in May/June after the AP test

Oh, gosh, I’d better take the Math level 2 as well. 0~0 @Mathophile26
I’m already starting to lose some of the more esoteric stuff I covered, like rotating conics and vector projection >.>;
Time for review!

I think my second subject test will most likely be chemistry, as that’s the science class I’m taking riight now. Then, if the rest of my scores are in order, I’ll start on physics. >.<
So much to learn, so little time!

my algebra 2 teacher is terrible

I am so stressed

so much homework

I get about 30 minutes of free time a day, barely have time to get a good sleep kms

Wait, should I know those? Does conics refer to hyperbolas, circles, etc.? My math teachers always skipped over the chapter on vectors, so I’ll have to learn those  Right, I’ll be taking chemistry as well since AP Bio will be senior year, and I won’t be done with it in time for taking the Bio Subject test.

haha, yup! That’s all conics are @Mathophile26 My favorite is the hyperbola
The vector stuff was really hard (for me)- most especially vector projections- likely because my book assumed I was taking trig alongside physics. It’s one of only a couple areas where I just sucked it up and memorized the formulas (before promptly forgetting). I’m hoping to go over it in more depth sometime soon!

I won’t have AP chem by the time I take the chem SAT, either. 0.o
My school doesn’t offer many ways to accelerate the sciences before junior year…
but I’m pretty decent at learning stuff on my own, and I’ve certainly got the math background for any chem that’ll come my way in high school.

Today my textbook threw an awesomely tough problem on me, and I spent a while thinking on it.
It was just… yes! I am so happy with my math class 0v0
The quiz today also threw a toughie at me, but I was able to use some of the theory I’d gleaned from that one hard problem to nail it. Kapow!

Then I kinda know those… I was helping a friend with Integrated Math III (basically Algebra II and some stats) homework, and I had completely forgotten focus points and the directrix. Guess I’ll be reviewing them soon. Yeah, I don’t like when I have to memorize formulas without understanding them, but sometimes I might not get a concept, so that’s what I have to do.

On another note, I’m disappointed in myself - I got a B on my math test, and I was pretty confident about it :(. Idk what happened, maybe I forgot to do a whole page or bubbled in my answers wrong or something

Also, I helped someone before the math test today with a problem, and I thought he was in my APES lab group, so in APES I asked him what he thought of the math test. He told me that that wasn’t him, and that he had a twin. Whaaat?!? They look EXACTLY alike, I thought he was the same guy from APES.

Oh man, @Mathophile26 , forgetting to do a page is exactly what happened to me on mine p~p
my score on that exam dropped 16% </3
that’s, like, 2% of my grade p~p
I feel for you, yo

300 page hype

I got a 95 on my Bio quiz because of a bubbling error. I even checked it over!

I got 111% on my probability/stats exam but the material is still super basic (basically a repeat of parts of algebra and my other intro prob/stats course) so yeah. I’ve got a midterm for numerical analysis in two weeks - I darn well better study

I have a cold :frowning:

Omg I am always paranoid about that happening to me @awesomepolyglot! Especially since in AP World, my teacher is using this new grading program for our multiple choice quizzes, and you have to bubble in really darkly for it to be counted. Everyone’s losing points over that, and I’m scared it’ll happen to me too and I won’t catch the mistake.

I’m auditioning for all county orchestra tomorrow, wish me luck!

Well IM2 is a joke, the concepts are stupidly easy to understand and it absolutely bores me. And most of the time, we don’t even have much work to do. We’re basically given like 15 minutes to answer 2 minute questions, and going over simple answers literally takes forever. Plus, the class is really loud and obnoxious despite it being an “honors” class.

I wonder if integrated math 3 is any different.

I want to go into STEM and I’m pulling As in everything except science. Fuck me :frowning:

@ImAwfulWithNames Oh, friend, do I feel you; I’ve got As in all but English.
I love English! p~p
whhhy

Well I totally bombed that audition hahaha :))

pissed because my algebra 2 teacher is literally terrible I’ve had to watch videos on khan academy to learn

We got our first tests back today and I got a 95, one of the highest grades in the class but there was an extra credit problem on the test, which she decided to not even look at - she said she changed her mind since it was a quadratic equation which we hadn’t learned yet. Anyways, it ruined my perfect grade in her class. The least she could have done was scaled them, given the fact that a large majority of the class had under 70s.

and if I get one more damn test essay over the weekend again in English (for the 4th time)… UGH

@Shanban1607 Good luck! I’m sure you did fine

Omg I got an 88 on my AP Chem test I am so happy!! :))
