Lol
Haha yes that was exactly what I thought. I’m Indian, so I’m like “Tea Tea”? right away.
Ditto with “naan bread” amirite
I really do not want to go to school. Chemistry is starting to get boring, as we’ve been using the energy equation for three days. We’re on a block schedule and I still feel like the pacing is too slow sometimes.
I’m on desktop rn and this is so weird yoooooo
also i should announce that my quizlet username has changed and it’s now sarahlp6409
Yaas @awesomepolyglot
AP chemistry is so hard :((
If Honors Chem is hard for me, I can’t imagine what AP Chem is like :-S
On another note, we recently had to write our first conclusion for Honors Chem, and she told us to keep it concise, so around 5 sentences. I wrote a page and a half, in small handwriting! I’m really bad at trimming down my writing (I wrote 1800 words for a 1000 word essay a few weeks ago. Thankfully, my teacher didn’t take off points), so I eventually gave up on trying to reduce the length. She only took off 1/4 of a point, though, so my grade wasn’t affected too much
The stress is real :((
@Shanban1607 Need help in anything particular?
@ZealousScholar Nah, we just had our class period cut in half today during our test for chem and no one knows if our jerk teacher will actually give us more time or just give us failing grades
i think i just 200% flunked my chem test RIP
i miss bio honors where i got a 98% on the final
I have
a
lot
of
homework
freaking out about the SAT this saturday 0~o
on the one hand, my last practice test went swimmingly
on the other hand, Khan Academy gets a lot of flack for being innacurate/non-representative of the real test. I’m so worried >~<
SAT already @OMPursuit? I’m considering that as well, but I need a LOT more Reading practice, so… Khan Academy, here I come
It’s 9 and I still have to take 2 chapters worth of notes for AP World. They take me 2ish hours each, so I’m not getting much sleep tonight
You know you’re in California when the highlight of your day was running in 103 degree weather.
RIP lungs, dryness COD.
I’m basically spamming at this point but I don’t care so
that moment when you’re doing a multiple choice test and the question is “which of the following is not true” but you’re convinced they’re all true but there’s no option for that so you think your teacher is secretly plotting against you while you cry yourself until you faint from dehydration so you can get out of the test and rethink life
today’s rant #3 (this is literally spam now lol, but this one is worth reading)
ok so our math class tests work on a 4-3-2-1 grade system (but the A, B, etc scales are worked out so that a 3/4 would still be a B instead of a 75% C)
anyways so we had a test in algebra 2 about domain and range and other graph stuff. i get the test back, and it’s a 3/4. everything looks fine, but one thing is marked as “written improperly”.
i had written an inequality (a domain) as 2 > x > -5, instead of -5 < x < 2.
…
LITERALLY THE SAME THING OMFGF,GEJRERJ
i ask her about it, thinking it’s a mistake and she just glossed over it not seeing it’s the same thing.
NOPE.
she says with her heavy accent, and i QUOTE (most of it at least), “Mathematics is about being as precise as possible. We cannot write the same thing two different ways, or else it doesn’t make sense and we have a bunch of different things. Here, it’s more accurate to write it like a number line, with the negative to the left.”
walking back to my seat, i’m literally painfully cringing while screaming internally. i didn’t even know what to say at that point.
by the way, NO, this isn’t a class thing that she’s told us before. she EXPECTED us to know this, as if it’s taught in every math class in america that you need to write inequalities from smallest to biggest. she didnt mention it a single time, and it’s not in the textbook. i’ve gone through 10 years of math classes, the past 4 or 5 including inequalities, and have NEVER heard something like this.
i go home and look online to see if its some unwritten rule. nope. not. a. single. thing. what a surprise!
jesus christ. i know EXACTLY what she’ll say if i try and dispute it. i can’t take my test out of the class for cheating reasons to show it to another teacher either.
i don’t know what to do. this is a class where tests are 95% of your grade too. luckily there’s a lot more to come and i doubt this one test will make a difference in my final grade, so it’s not the end of the world. just really annoyed that this kind of teacher has made it 17 years without being called out for her BS.
TL;DR: write same answer in a different way, lose points. teacher is never wrong!
please tell me i’m not insane and that this isn’t actually a thing.
yeah, I don’t think you’re insane. That’s terrible. >.< @literallyliteral
I feel really bad about my last exam for a different reason, haha
I guess we’re in the same boat! You seem totally capable of making the grade back, so I wouldn’t worry too much.
Algebra 2 is really relaxing, a whole lot of calculations :7
@Mathophile26 Oh, yup! I want to get a score back for summer programs 'n stuff. I only have so many testing dates left, anyway, I’m plenty prepared for my first attempt!
