High School Class of 2019

i have to make a japanese bomber character for english

Oh my gosh, that’s so cool :0 @literallyliteral
time for research

oh wow, my English teacher got me in on this workshop with Juan Felipe Herrera todaay

it was so intense
so yesss, I got to hear (and write) all this wonderful poetry
and there were strawberries at the reception
prolly one of my best days everr

and tomorrow, I take the SAT
wish me luck y’all

@OMPursuit GL! Don’t come back until you get a 1600 :))

Good luck!!!

Lol, I just got my math test back and made a 28 out of 100. The grade is actually 17 but he adds extra points because its only nine questions.

Woot, it’s done 0.o
I’m pretty sure it went okay… except for the essay!
Eep

Reading and writing was harder than the Khan practice tests suggest, while math was (for me) wayy easier.

Good to know @OMPursuit.

@ElloLove, only 9 questions? Were they complicated ones?

Yoooo, first 5.12! On my fourth try! :smiley: and it’s looking like I’m going to get my second in six tries :smiley: :smiley: :smiley: @snowfairy137

yeah, @ElloLove , if you want any resources for math-studying I can hook you up. A 28 out of 100 is scary :<

our team went on a 10 mile beach (not literally on sand) run at 5:30am this morning

it was pitch black until 6:15ish and you couldnt tell where your feet were going
fun!

I got my second 5.12 in 8 tries and onsighted 2 10s so today was a gooood day

It makes me so happy to see more interracial couples nowadays:)

@awesomepolyglot i dont usually post on this thread, but thats super cool! I’m still on 5.11C, and we’re on boulding season rn, so I haven’t done ropes in a while.

@Mathophile26 They weren’t hard questions, its just that he expects us to fail so in the beginning he rushes through the material and doesn’t really give us enough time for notes. He’s better now though, as we move to the next chapter

@OMPursuit Hook me up (lol, I sound like a drug addict)

@snowfairy137 I usually onsight 10c and project 11a for weeks, lol. And yeah, it’s bouldering season over here, too. I was originally doing comp training, but my belay partner and I got distracted.

Ohhh, ok @ElloLove. Your teacher wants you to fail? That’s scary…

@adiacs Why do you care?

Is anyone here taking the PSAT in two weeks? I took the practice test, but other than that do not really know how to study.

@kimclan1 I am!
I just took the SAT too, ugh

so far as studying goes: for the math section, review rules for simple operations you’ll use often. The SAT seems to love multistep problems, and no doubt answers will appear trying to trick you with answers capitalizing on misuse of those algebra basics like exponent rules and commutative, associative, distributive properties.

for reading/writing, brushing up on different ways to start and end paragraphs wouldn’t hurt. I also recommend practicing identifying elements of stuff you read leading up to the test, checking out scientific journals and excerpts of literature from project Gutenberg to get an idea of how those read.
