PSAT hype
I get to miss every period but French.
@literallyliteral, that’s what I got to do last year (I only had to go to the last half of math), but this year my PSAT was on a Saturday, so no missing school this time
I have a really awful cough, so I’ll probably be really distracting to my classmates during the PSAT today.
Literally no one at my school (in my grade) is taking the PSAT seriously, even the teachers. My English teacher yesterday was like “Christmas tree it for all I care, it’s not like this little quiz matters at all.” :))
@noplayallwork I forgot there as even a dance. I meant homecoming week.
tfw you forget your calculator and have to do the w/ calc portion entirely on paper :s
I didn’t even use my calculator except for operations that I was too lazy to write out. I feel as if it were pretty easy, but I hate the time constraints on the reading sections of these standardized tests.
I dunno, I felt really really good about reading and calc, pretty good on writing, and really, really bad about no calc. Looking at past practice tests and all that, i think I’m looking at a solid 690-690 split.
(I really wanted to get over 1400 but this is still a good score)
but see, @IrrationalPepsi , it’s those problems that eat up your time and allow for easy mistakes
Four, five decimal places? Not cool D:
@awesomepolyglot I feel really great about reading/writing and super bad about math. I think I’m looking at a 770/680 or so
am not complaining, tho, as I feel real good about my math score on the actual SAT
It felt super easy to me, especially the math portions. I remember last year guessing on a bunch of math problems, this year I only guessed on 1 that I didn’t feel like trying to do.
For some reason this PSAT seemed a lot harder than the practice tests. I got a ton of D’s as answer choices in Writing, and got a lot of B’s in reading. Anyone else notice weird MC patterns?
@ZealousScholar Yeah, there was some pretty weird patterns and I thought it was pretty hard.
Most kids didn’t even try; they filled in random answers real quick and slept for the rest of the time. I tried but struggled to finish with the time restraints.
Yes! The patterns were very weird. I’m feeling great about math and writing, and eh about reading. I remember I had three consecutive single-letter patterns and that had me stressing
@ZealousScholar Don’t remember anything for writing, but I noticed the constant Bs in the reading part. I recall some other constant letters too, but I don’t remember where exactly.
Maybe it’s an attempt to throw off people to vote other answers? I don’t know.
I didn’t finish on time with the english half, so I randomly filled in the last 2-4 questions. Looks like I have a lot of preparation ahead of me to get in the 1500s range on the actual SAT…
i only really remember getting a lot of b’s in reading as weird but the math just killed me lol i felt pretty good about the language part though
at least we have all of these quality memes now
I had a total asthma attack close to the end of the first math section and it was so scary, thankfully my teacher let me get my inhaler and leave the room for a sec
the PSAT left me bowlegged
I think I did pretty well. I kind of rushed through the reading a bit and I also got a lot of Bs and weird answer patterns so I was kind of second guessing myself a bit. I think I did really good on the writing section and almost finished with one question left. The calculator inactive was just terrible, but the calculator active section was incredibly easy and I finished with 6 minutes left to spare. Overall I’m pretty happy with it and I can’t until we get results back.
I WAS SO WEIRDED OUT
I totally failed the math no calc tho lol
