School doesn’t get out until June 15th for me, you guys are so lucky! I’ll be attending VSA this summer (: Here’s my requested schedule:
AP Lit
Physics
Spanish IV H
World History
Chamber Choir
Calc I (sem 1)
Calc II (Trinity College class for sem 2)
Capstone (required)
I know this course load looks really light compared to most of you, but I go to a new high school with limited resources (we don’t have AP Physics, World, or Calc). This is the most challenging course load I could design in order to still take all the courses required for graduation. On the bright side, it’ll be less stressful than my junior year.
Everyone here makes me look inferior:p
My schedule goes like this:
AP Statistics
Advanced British Literature
Marine Biology
Del-One Bank(work as student teller at the bank at my school/paid internship and training over the summer)
Drama 2
Vocal Jazz Men’s Ensemble
TA
Chorale(before school M/W/F)
Concert Choir(before school T/T)
Unfortunately, my school had scheduling problems/conflicts so some classes I was unable to take(i.e AP Bio), therefore I had to work around these conflicts and my back up class if conflicts happen or do not like my classes at the beginning of the year is AP Psychology.
@BazarTwenty Hi, just our of curiosity, your school has a bank? Is it independent?
Del One in our community has high school branches of themselves so no it’s not independent, but the experience working at the school bank feels like it is independent.

I am taking Spanish because I am applying to Navarre University or Universidad de Nevarra next year. I hope I make it lol. I dont know if I have the grades but Im glad I did IB for this. Im excited but also dreading senior year IB.
@Giovuhnni HIIIIIIII! I thought I was the only OG 2019-er still left on this wretched website!
DS finished junior year today. Squeaked out an A- in Hons PreCalc, and I found out that he has a solid first draft of his Common App essay done, already reviewed by his AP Eng Language teacher. It was a good day! Bring on the summer!
What’s up everyone, this is my first time on this thread.
I guess I’ll go ahead and post my senior year schedule
AP Bio
AP Chem
AP Statistics
AP Psychology
AP English Literature
Chinese 4
EEE Internship/Fine Art Appreciation (EEE internship is just something I’ve arranged at a local lab)
*Free block
How does this schedule look? Competitive enough for top schools? Also, throughout high school I would’ve taken 11 AP courses and 6 honors courses. Is this a competitive course load?
Finally, just wondering how valuable are summer research programs? I’m attending BU RISE this summer; how prestigious is this program and will it add much to my CV?
I will be working at Subway this summer!
I just started my CommonApp and can I just say aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa it’s almost here guys
I’m about to get a real disappointing email from Yale in about six months rip me y’all
Senior Schedule:
AP Lit
AP Gov
AP Psych
AP Calc AB
AP Econ
Honors Physics
I’m trying real hard to get into an Ivy, but I’m getting more and more accustomed to the reality that I’ll prolly have a rejection letter in hand 9 months from now. I wish I had found this thread earlier, maybe you all coulda helped me through the pain of realizing the inevitable.
Finally finished the school year! I imagine everyone else here is done with school as well. How were everyone’s finals?
I only had two school exams, Honors Precalculus and Honors Orchestra.
I think I got like a 98? on precalc and my orchestra teacher gave me a (very undeserved) 85 on the sight reading final. (I think that’s the lowest grade she ever gives anybody… nobody fails orchestra, even if they can’t shift out of first position!)
I think my AP exams went OK, with probably a 5 on Chem and APUSH and a 4 on Lang and Physics 1.
@awesomepolyglot Damn, that sucks for orchestra. Nice job on pre-calc though, I got a 102 on mine (love me some bonus points). You’re that confident on chem? I studied really hard for it and I think I killed the frqs but I was only confident on like half of the multiple choice. Lang and APUSH were pretty easy imo.
No, that orchestra grade was a blessing. I actually deserved like a 55, LOL.
It was probably just barely a 5… but a 5 is a 5!
Hey everyone! It’s been so long since I’m back here lol. So many new people
Anyways, life update - this summer I’m kinda chilling. I have an internship for civil engineering which is pretty cool! Have any of you started college apps? I created a Common App account today hehe.
AP exams were pretty brutal for me, especially Chem and APUSH oof. What college are you guys thinking of applying to? I always get the question from adults about “which college do you want to go to” and I’m always confused about if I say my dream school or what lmao since I have no idea where I want to go. So I just say “some college in California” xD.
@Mathophile26 Yeah chem was a killer. I started my Common App (in fact for AP Lit I have to write two drafts over the summer). I’m looking to go to any good northeasternish college for CS pretty much, of course CMU and MiT are top choices but I wouldn’t mind some other ones.
