High School Class of 2020

@myactualname That’s exactly how my schedule is: 5 actual classes and dance as my p.e.

I have six classes. We only have to do one year of PE though. Sports don’t count for PE but it would be nice if they did.

You guys are lucky your schools offer so many AP’s to sophomores! My prospective sophomore schedule is…

AP World History 2
Advanced Russian (Pre-AP: I take two years of Russian in one year) (Regents)
Honors Physics (Regents)
Honors Algebra 2/Trigonometry (Regents)
Honors English
CAD
PE

I’d love to take more AP’s, but in NYS we are required to take a certain number of Regents classes first. Everyone else’s schedules seem so great compared to mine lol

I’m not sure why you would consider us “lucky” to be taking so many AP’s. It’s more work for us in order to compete with the rest of our class. Colleges compare students in their own school, they don’t compare students across different schools so they wouldn’t compare you to us in terms of academics anyway.

@Foreboding I’m not saying you guys are lucky in terms of course load but more along the lines of course selection because I’m honestly genuinely interested in some AP courses and would have loved to be able to take them sophomore year.

I completely understand where you’re coming from, and I know you guys are definitely making the best of the course offerings within your own schools. It would just be nice to be able to take more AP’s now, as I could then take a wider variety of advanced/interesting classes later on. Anyways, I’ve just got to get through finals for now… I still have almost an entire month of school left until summer vacation. Summer can’t come quick enough lol

I see what you’re saying. I am genuinely interested in every AP class I’m taking but sometime thats not even enough in order to compete with the rest of my school.

i just finished giving my sat subject test
hoping that i get at least a 700 :frowning:

@catsarecute32 Did you join the thread for the June SAT Bio? The rest of us are all on there! Dude a 700 is still really great and you have no clue if you even got higher or lower than that don’t stress! I’m hoping for a 750+ given I skipped 3 questions and logically guessed on a few.

@onlyworthypotato no i actually didnt can you link the thread please?
i skipped 2, but i think i got a few wrong, especially on respiration stuff
im sad because I thought there would be more organismal biology which is much easier for me but oh well lol

@catsarecute32 Here it is:

And honestly I got confused on the RNA one is rRNA actually composed of nucleotides or not???

@onlyworthypotato im pretty sure it would have nucleotides…i hope
i dont see why it wouldnt be though

@catsarecute32 [-O< God I hope I get that 750+ lol

There’s plenty of other SAT subject tests as well. Don’t feel too bad if you don’t succeed on the bio one.

Just got my sophomore schedule in the mail:
*I put the weight of each class in parenthesis next to it
AP Calc AB (5.0)
AP Comp Sci Prin (5.0)
Chemistry (4.5)
Physics (4.5)
AP Euro History (5.0)
English 10 Advanced (4.5)
Spanish 3 (4.5)
Debate (4.0)

How does it look?

Looks pretty competitive. Hope you do well!

Yup looks good.

What are you guys doing for ec’s?

I want to go into biology or chemistry as a premed. My ecs are that I’m a marketing intern at a law firm, I have a STEM blog, I’ve been volunteering with little kids at my church(100 hours), I volunteer at my local hospital, I do debate, I play piano and I play tennis and run track. I want to add more STEM related ecs but I have no idea what else I can do. Open to suggestions if you guys have some.

Don’t do EC’s for the sake of doing EC’s. Do EC’s your passionate about that mean something to you.
