High School Class of 2020

my school’s really big, so we start at the beginning of February

My school is small but they start at beginning of February for upperclassmen. I’m beginning to put together a plan. Have any of you guys taken AP chem? And if so do you think it would be manageable with AP physics 1?

Yeah it would definitely be doable, there are people who double up on AP physics c: mechanics and AP chemistry, so you should be fine

@trumpetmathgeek

@trumpetmathgeek We’re starting to pick near the end of this month! How about you?

Have a good day!

@anthonytheboy Thank you, same!

My school has 2000+ students and we schedule next week on Monday, similarly to @anthonytheboy and I am super nervous. I just want to make the right decision. Oh yeah, they do this because as soon as we get out of school for this year, we get our junior year schedule (teachers and all). Here’s what I’ve come down to taking for next year:

AP Economics
AP U.S. History
AP Lang and Comp
Honors Precalc
Honors German IV
Chemistry (I honestly hate science and at my school, Honors Chemistry is Hell)
Ceramics (have to get an art credit in order to graduate)

How about you guys?

Mine isn’t set in stone but I want to take
Ap bio
Ap Lang
Ap french lang
Honors precalculus bc
Us history

@collegeready33 what is honors Precalculus bc. Does it prepare you for Calc BC?

Mine is also not set in stone as some things could change, but it’ll look something just like this:

-AP English Language
-AP US History
-Pre-Calc HN w/Trig (If I continue to maintain an A the second semester of Alg.2 Honors.)
-Regular or AP Physics 1 (I’m having a lot of trouble deciding between these two courses.)
-AP Psychology
-Spanish 4 Honors
-Philosophy and World Religions

@collegeready33 @ab2002 You guys have great schedules! Good luck next year!

Have a good day and happy Martin Luther King, Jr. day!

We don’t have to make any definite decisions yet but here’s what I’m thinking:

Honors English (highest english for juniors, prepares for AP Lang exam)
US History (regular)
AP Physics 1
AP Calc AB (only one the school has unfortunately)
Spanish 3 (no honors offered)
Digital photo for visual/performing art credit
Either AP Enviro Sci or AP Comp Sci Principles for an academic elective

Really can’t decide between APES and AP comp sci. Any suggestions? Loving AP Bio this year, but feel like comp sci would look better…

@Itwixster

2 things,

  1. if it prepares you for the AP lang exam, why doesn't you school just call it AP language lol
  2. I've heard APES doesn't look that good on an application, unless you're genuinely interested in the environmental sciences

I’m planning:
AP Lang and Comp
APUSH
AP Physics 1
AP Chem
AP Calc AB
Honors Spanish 4
Concert Band

@Candyblossom1245 at my school there are three precalculus classes.
Precalculus is taken before calculus
Honors Precalculus AB is taken before AP calculus AB
Honors Precalculus BC is taken before AP calculus BC

AP Literature
AP Economics
AP Chemistry
AP US Gov
AP Physics 1
AP German 4
Multivariable Calculus

My schedule

Woah… 6 APs and Multivariable… that’s going to be intense! @Foreboding

@trumpetmathgeek Your schedule looks a lot like mine, except I’m taking a couple of PLTW classes instead of the AP sciences, and I’m not in band.

I signed up for AP Lang but at my school, they never seem to actually have an AP Lang class. I think it’s because not enough people sign up, but I’m not really sure. So I might have to change that. And I’m definitely going to talk to my gc because I have a bunch of questions!

@Microsoft_Ninja some schools might let you use score choice for the subjects. Don’t panic, and definitely DON’T delete your CB account!

Also, I’m glad so many of us are doing AP Physics 1 - I’m taking it next year too and I’m kinda scared, so hopefully I won’t have to ask too many homework questions haha

My next year’s schedule is going to look something like this:

AP Spanish 5
AP English Language and Composition
AP Statistics
AP/IB SL Psychology (not sure which route I want to take yet)
IB SL European History
AP/IB SL Biology (dual class)
AP/IB SL Art History (although this may be switched out with AP/IB HL Chemistry)
TOK (half-year) / AP Student Gov (half-year)

All your schedules look fantastic!!! I hope next year will be a good year for us. I don’t know how it is at other schools, but here, junior year is generally considered the year of death, especially for IB students.

Haha junior year has a reputation for being pretty tough

apush, ap en, ap bio, bioethics, precalc, latin lit or latin 3 (classes are all honors are ap)
