What kind of colleges do ‘A students’ typically get into? I’ve averaged above a 93 in all of my high school classes (except AP Bio, I got a 90), but never get that elusive A+. So how do colleges view students like me, who take rigorous courses and get grades in the mid-90s? Any chance I get into a somewhat competive school? Thanks!
Yes, you have a good chance…but that chance will go from being an extremely high reach to just a reach based on things you do outside of school.
What do you do to occupy your free time? Your extracurriculars are extremely important in the college admissions process, as well as standardized test scores, and any awards you’ve gotten.
If the only thing you’ve done is get a 4.0 GPA, then the chance you’ll get into a competitive school is borderline 0. Give us more information, and we might be able to gauge your chances.
