<p>Someone’s mention of celebrating a high school graduation and an elementary school “graduation” simultaneously reminded me of someone I know who, about 15 years ago, planned one party to celebrate her youngest child’s high school graduation and her oldest child’s college graduation.</p>
<p>This mother then made the surprise(!) announcement at the party that she was pregnant with her third child (at age 45). Same husband/father as for the first two.</p>
<p>May nobody on CC have that kind of “excitement” at their graduation parties this spring.</p>
<p>^^Oops. That happened to a friend of my mom’s when I was in college, my mom’s friend had one graduated from college, one graduating from high school and Yikes but I think she was much closer to 50 when that happened still…</p>

<p>eek that was me with the kids 8 years apart- but my younger sister whose oldest is 6 mo younger than my oldest ( who will be 28 this month), also has one who just turned five.
Same husband as well.
My mother used to make the comment that my sisters husband was closer to * her age.
I suggested to my H, that unless he wanted to bear the next child, that he get a V, so he did. Thank goodness.</p>
<p>45 isn’t really * that* old though. I had quite a few friends who had their first at 40, but it would be a change in perspective.
Even with them 8 years apart , it took me a while to stop wondering where the baby came from.</p>
