What should I have as goals in high school (SAT/ACT Scores, AP or Honors Classes, Class rank, etc.) to get into UVA?
I think the phrase is “do well in the hardest academic classes offered in your high school”. A high SAT score by itself will not guarantee admission.
It’s vice versa for me, because I’m a bad test taker and I feel like my SAT score won’t be good enough, even with straight A’s in all honors/ap courses
I believe UVa says that your high school academic record is more important than your standardized test scores. In any case, take both the ACT and the SAT. They are very different tests. For whichever test had a better score, take that test again.
I believe UVa also says they like people to have played an important leadership role in at least one major activity, instead of just joining lots of different clubs.
Put a great deal of time and effort into your essays on the application.

This is the official place to go for advice and info on the admissions process. In the above comments, I just quoted a few things I had been told over the years.
