Some educationall systems have approximatelly 12-15 classes per year.
At college admission, do they tend to look more at the classes related to what you’re going to study?
I mean…will a some bad marks in religion ancient greek or law hurt my chances for admission as cognitive science major? generally speaking ofcourse

The short answer is that yes, they will care and yes, weak grades in any subjects can hurt your chances of admission.

The reason is that American colleges are big on a broad liberal arts education; you will probably take 2/3 of your courses outside of your major, including subjects that you may consider yourself weak in.
