Hillary Clinton (not political) - where does she get her energy?

Hillary Clinton is several years older than I am. During her last campaign, I marveled at how great she looked and how well she managed the brutal campaign schedule. Now she is 8 years older. Before she started running, she was looking more like I do - hair just hanging, no makeup. But she’s now looking great again. I know that she must have a full-time hairdresser and a full-time makeup person. But I wouldn’t have thought that hair and makeup could make such a difference. And that doesn’t answer my main question: where does she get the energy? 11 hours on the hotseat?

I want to know her secret(s).

This thread could be titled about any older famous person…look at Helen Merrin, or even Meryl Streep.

These folks stay engaged, and active…which helps them stay engaged and active!

The quality is poor, but it’s the only version I could find.

While she was Secretary of State she also maintained a grueling schedule. She must be a workaholic with incredible stamina.

Some of the men questioning her at her hearing would have done well to talk to a makeup professional. Those hot TV lights are brutal. One of the questioners looked like his makeup was applied by a shoeshine guy.

Yoga always helps!

Is this not really political? What about discussing Trump’s hair? Isn’t one thinly vailed admiration the other civilized contempt?

Trump’s hair is not political. It is just plain ugly! But I give him credit for his energy, too. He is 69.

Do you think ANYONE from either side of the aisle finds Trump’s hair attractive??

I wonder how many professionals a woman in her position-- or, say, an female actor of her age who is always in the public eye-- has to employ to tend to her appearance. A makeup pro, a hairdresser and a stylist for clothing, I imagine. I would guess Carly Fiorina also has a similar staff to deal with her appearance. Part of the job of running for President, if you are a woman, is to always look polished.

I was just reading about Tony Robbins’ morning routine. He dips in some kind of cryogenic tank… really invigorating! Sure, everyone should have one. Must cost a couple 100 g’s.

As for Mrs Clinton, after outstaminizing the hostile interregators, when will someone suggest the use of performance enhancing drugs? It would have made an excellent “yes or no” question.

@WasatchWriter suggested performance enhancing drugs, in #2-- as a joke, I assume. I admit, I thought of that SNL skit too.

As a joke, yes.

I’d bet Mrs. Clinton isn’t dipping into the tank, however she is definitely having some Botox sessions.

Taking time to take care of your body is important. My absolute fitness hero among our public officials is RBG. She is a workaholic who pulls all-nighters and keeps herself in shape by working out with a trainer, doing 2 sets of 10 real knees off the ground pushups - all at the ripe age of 83.

I’m no good at telling whether someone had Botox, but for someone in Hillary’s position (or Carly Fiorina’s, or another woman running for high office) that sort of thing is part of the job.

@busdriver11, would you say that any of the male candidates use Botox? Hair plugs? Supposedly Chris Christie had weight-loss surgery. Appearance is important for men, too, though IMO they have a much easier job and their clothes selection is much easier.

Chris Christie did have weight loss surgery; he’s acknowledged it.

I’ve got no problem with anyone doing any of that stuff. If I had the money, I’d do it too.

I think carly and Hillary look great. Not even just for their age. I also think some people are more energetic than others. Add in a little nip and tuck, excellent wardrobe help, exercise and diet and someone to do hair and makeup . I can’t imagine having to look that good and be on point all the time. I work from home a lot and I am a mess. I can barely tame my hair.

She’s a brilliant woman with goals. She has the depth of experience to present herself well, had a long marriage to a goal driven man (who apparently supported her drive, throughout,) one child who presented few challenges…and now the resources (money, recognition, connections, and people to tend to her schedule, appearance and the right downtime, etc.)

Sure, she has energy. In their own ways, so did Thatcher and other strong women.

Don’t underestimate how goals can drive a person.

I’d say Joe Biden definitely had hair plugs and Botox, though it appears he won’t be a candidate anymore. Definitely Trump with the plugs, can’t think of any others though. I don’t really notice unless it’s obvious.

I don’t have a problem with Christie having weight loss surgery either. It’s part of the job.
