Hi everyone, this is my 1st post but i’ve been browsing the thread which has been very helpful.

Do any of you guys know if the bankdraft for the offer is returnable? I’ve been wanting to go to HK to study and received an offer from HKU for architecture, which was my 1st choice, but I’m not sure if could afford it all financially which is why I’ve been waiting for news of the scholarship. I don’t know if I qualify for it and without it I would not be able to afford studying in HK. I don’t want to lose the offer either so I’m stuck as to what to do.

@gd2318: Haha thats great! I suspected there to be few indonesians there… but its great to knw someone else from my home country. BTW what do you think of HK life in general? I read a few blogs/reports which love or hate HK, and the hate blogs really affected me haha.

How true are these reasons? My going to HKU depends on whether I like HK or not - I’ve never been there before, and planning to go sometime around May or June. Rly appreciate ur comments and anyone else’s :D

@wshahid: I thought that the scholarship application results should be out together with your admission results - you’d better check with them via email ASAP or as jiceo1 mentioned, give em a call :)

import java.util.Random;

public class HKUorHKUST
{
public static void main(String[] args)
{
Random generator = new Random();
int n = generator.nextInt();

if (x % 2 == 0)
{
System.out.println("Go to HKUST!!");
}
else
System.out.println("Go to HKU!!");
}

It is very appropriate to have coding in a nerdy thread :D. After, we will all study all day and have no life in college right?

exec163:
Your code would be just for the case if HKU == HKUST. =D
But since msaleh did indicate a couple of things such as he’ll be majoring in engineering…

@kyubaek90…forget about how old the uni is and how well its rooted… what will be valued is how YOU are and which universitys course is better… HKUST’s golbal business is ranked 9th in the ENTIRE world while HKU’s IBGM is nowhere near there … what you do after ur undergrad… probably post grad … they wont go for ur unis overall rankings but ur unis ranking in YOUR course… remember the post grad uni’s probably done its homework on ALL unis right… i was conflicted between hku and hkust because hku is old and more alumni and all that u said… but hkust’s engineering specifically surpasses HKU’s by about FORTY places on the rankings charts … so im going to uni to become the best engineer I can and HKUST offers that to me and HKU pales in comparison… i think the same pretty much applies to u and ur course … i hope this helps u decide =D

yes you do bro ( im sorry if youre a girl =P)… cos this is something u should REALLY look into … ill tell u that my cousin got her undergrad from there and shes currently doing an MBA at UChicago… =P …

Hi, everyone, i am new here, but i have been follwing this thread for a long time, Is there any on time applicants who are still waiting for their application results from HKU?
I applied on the 21st of January, and haven’t heard anything,
applied for IBGM, Acc & Fin and Fin and Eco,have no interviews…
I have been worried…

cherry
Hey, I applied on january 20th and got my HKU Acc&Fin results on March 30th…
Acc&Fin was my second choice too. I was rejected from BBA Law (first choice) in mid march.
Dont worry too much because maybe HKU is still considering you for IBGM (i assume this is your first choice), and no one on this forum received any offers from IBGM.

Or you can just send HKU an email and ask them about your application.
