HKU or HKUST

FBE is one of the best departments at HKU and also the most efficient. We have not yet given out many offers. Some offers have just been made to early applicants and those with unconditional offers. Everything will be according to a process. So please be patient

Quick Tip:

If you don’t get a reply by April and I know US universities deadline is May, so just CALL. We realize this and thus we would try our utmost to let you know about your application. But hopefully we would reply by April

you will be sent an email and snail mail

It depends on your grades, the country that you apply from and ofcourse your extracurriculars. And lets not forget your interview if you had one…

@ HKUADMISSIONS: Hi. Can I know whether HKU will inform unsuccessful applicants? If so, when will they be informed? Thanks! :)

@ HKUADMISSIONS: Do you know when MBBS offers will be made? And when you say by April, do you mean early or late? Thanks.

@ HKUADMISSIONS: Does HKU award entrance scholarships to international applicants who have completed their GCE A-level and are not applying directly from high school?
Also, Is appeal for a scholarship considered if one has already been given admission but has not been awarded a scholarship?

Yes you are eligible.
Yes you can appeal but with a valid reason.

Offers are being made right now. When I say April i mean the whole of April. We dont have a specific date when we release all the results. So you just have to wait.

Regarding MBBS, it would depend on the faculty. If you want to know you can email them about your case and they will reply to you.

Unsuccessful applicants will be informed in due course. Usually later than the ones getting the offer.

Goodluck!!

Lookign at the sheer volume of enquiries here I will be talking to my superior about regular posting on this forum.

Please if you have any questions feel free to ask them here. And please guide us to other forums where you post as well.

HKU is here to help the incoming students :)

@HKUADISSIONS:

hi, do you know when the faculty of dentistry will conduct interviews, and when will the offers come out? I’m quite worried as I haven’t heard from them yet. And about how many IB points will the conditional offer be?
In addition, I would like to know if IB scholarships are available for non-jupas students. If so, what would be the conditions for it? Thank you.

@HKUAdmissions-
If I want to go on a school tour, is it possible to arrange to sit in a class? Cause I really want to know what the professors at HKU are like overall, and I’m afraid just by looking at the outside of the college won’t help.

@ HKUAdmission

But weren’t the unsuccessful applicant already informed in February? And even if more unsuccessful applicants will be informed in April, shouldn’t they be informed earlier than the admitted in order to give them the maximum time to make other plans? It says on in the FAQ of international student admission that “If you are not likely to be offered a place, the University will try to let you know as soon as possible, in order to give you maximum time to make other plans”.

Yes yes patience is the key :)

I am an international student so I can speak for surety about the international scholarships and they are not offered to NON-JUPAS candidates.

But Non Jupas candidates have other scholarships for which they can apply. Please check the official website.

Dentistry faculty will get back to you soon. Its not the time to worry yet. Be worried at the end of April.

Hope it helps. Goodluck :)

I have been offerring school tours for an year now and it seems that many people want to sit in class. But its not possible because the Professors in HKU take individual interest in there students and usually dont want outside intrusion in there classrooms. So I am sorry but its not possible.

However I will be glad to give you a school tour :)

I have asked my superior for more people to contribute in this forum from the admissions sections. Hopefully you will see many more admissions helpers coming in to help you by next week. Keep posting and you will be replied!!

And when you come to HKU you can take up this job :)

So you didnt get the rejection yet!! I would consider it to be a good news :)

Yes we do reject candidates who do not fulfill our basic requirements. For others it depends on our class size. We at the admissions office have to face a lot of applicant every year and we try our best to deal with all of them efficiently. All we ask from you is patience.

Goodluck from the admissions section!!

Hello!

I was just wondering…
I was rejected for Pharmacy as my first choice at HKU. My second choice is BEcon and third choice is BSc. When will I get any notification as to whether or not I made it for my second choice? Thanks!
