Haha hopefully. But I probably won’t get any if I’m compared to all the mainlanders :)

Btw they will contact us regarding visa, housing etc. when the time comes

Has anyone heard back from HKU for Medicine?

I applied in early December and still no news >.<

P.s, Are then any students here from UK applying for Medicine also? o.o

@Christoffer
“When the time comes” as in, June 30? LOL. Please tell me if you get any updates! :D

And speaking of those from Mainland China, sometimes I wish I could be as diligent as them, but then, laziness takes over…

Can anyone tell me what are my chances of getting accepted into HKU/HKUST?
CBSE India, expecting 85 to 90%, had 91% in 10th. Have been waitlisted for HKUST and still under consideration for HKU.

@lovelylovelylady
I don’t know, that’s what they told me. Have you heard anything about June 30? I do hope they contact us before that, though :). Have read that it might take two months to get a visa. And of course I’ll let you know if get any updates :)

Haha I totally get it, I feel the same way about the mainlanders :)

Btw have they confirmed with you that they have received the 10k?

@jbauer24

Hey, I applied to HKU’s MBBS course too…just wondering are you from UK?
And do you know the standard entry requirements >.<

Many thanks
:)

What was your 2nd and 3rd choice apart from MBBS?

Hey everyone. I have applied to HKU dentistry in Dec 2010 although I sent my supporting documents in Feb 2011. As of today, my application status still shows “under consideration”. I wonder if you update you by e-mail or by changing the application status.

@HopefulMedicHKU

MBBS only lets nonjupas people in if you select it as first choice.

People said earliest invitation will be at the end of April.

Many other applicants have posted updates and information.

I am from Canada.

Ohh…so didn’t you put a 2nd and 3rd choice down? :s
I put BSc Science and Bpharm lol

And btw, are you a high school student or applying as a degree holder?

Thanks for replying :)

@Anemon

I think they update you through e-mail first, and I think I have read somewhere that after a person got accepted, his application status stayed as “under consideration” for like a few more weeks after XD So I think they mainly release decisions through e-mail, that is also how I got my decision. :)

@Christoffer, lovelylovelylady

Hey! I’m going to CUHK this fall too. I’m from Malaysia and got my offer toward computer science in early Jan of early consideration round. I heard thing too, the scholarship will only release starting from late April, hope everything work out OK. And I did ask them about visa, registration things, they said they will probably contact us to proceed that around May stay tuned!

Can I get you guys’ Facebook or email? For further engagement, haha XD

@uhneetuh

Thank you very much. Your answer was helpful to me. I keep checking my application status like a paranoid.

Admissions office told me that “Under consideration” means that the programme admissions members are unable to make a final decision at this stage. When I make calls when the decisions are released I get different answers. One said by end of May and other said some date in Aug LOL. I believe there is a difference in understanding between the admissions office and the faculty officers therefore I wanted to know what other people experienced.

@HopefulMedicHKU

I’m in university.

can I get accepeted? I’m applying hkust as an international student. I get 2A3B at O’level and I get my predicted grades of ABBCC in A level. A in maths, B in physics and Bio, C in Chemical and general paper. I’m applying for the Electronics engineering program. Will my admission be accepeted? thx before :D

@Christoffer
They said they would send me things “by end of June”…lol I really wanna settle things down ASAP, so hopefully “end of June” is just some kinda general response? Hehe

I emailed them my deposit slip, and the mailed copies are still on their way to HK. They said they’re still waiting for my original copies. Haha have you paid yet?

@DavidLau
Lol I think I remember you, from months ago. You’re this lucky fella who got in real early, and has some kinda connections with cuhk or something? lol

Now that you mention it, I should really create a fb account, shouldn’t I? LOL

@lovelylovelylady
Well, I hope “end of June” is a general response and that DavidLau is right and they’ll contact us in May :)

I have paid, but I just emailed them the deposit slip and the other documents. Didn’t mail anything yet. Don’t know if it’s okay. I should probably ask them :)

@DavidLau
hey, congrats if I didn’t say it back then, don’t really remember :). Then, I’ll guess we’ll see each other next fall
And if you get any information, please share :)

Hi everyone!!! I am newBIE here…just wonder is there anyone get accepted to HKU’s quant finance or actuarial science program?Mind sharing your stats???

@lovelylovelylovely

Haha. Not really a connection, I just in kinda kept promoting myself to the faculty member on that time which sprang me out from the applicant pool I’m having the same thinking with you as well, wish we all get informed for the further process as fast as possible. (Not that late as the end of June ><)

For the deposit, I think you better call them to confirm the acceptance of money. They probably won’t reply us by email. I did call them directly at that time.

I thought FB is epidemic at your place too? (Maybe I was wrong :P) Haha, most of the HK people actively in FB as well, so why don’t just try it? =)

@Christoffer

Thanks dude, I added you right at FB! Cool profile photo. Check it out! Will share if any update available. Let’s have fun right at CUHK soon
P/S: I think you need to send out the original documents as well, call them to check it better.

Any international student going to hku this september? plz contact me .
