I don’t know the exact number but there are quite a lot of Koreans at HKUST. Amongst all international admissions, they take up the largest portion.

Personally, I don’t think HK universities care much about extra-curricular activities. The grades are much more important and the ultimate determining factor. But , you should buff up your application with a maximum of 3 activities that showcase the different skills you possess.

What examination pattern did you take? Are you still waiting for your examination results? If yes, then it is possible to receive an offer if your results are better than your predicted results.

If your application status changed because of the actual examination results, then it won’t be possible to get an offer.

I would like to ask if a student receives an offer from HKU, will HKU first update the application status online or will they email the student first? Thanks in advance:)

through email :)) status updates r slower than email for the offers but faster for the rejection
tats from what i saw from ppl i know but yeah mayb there r different cases

Hello! My name is Lyz and I live in Africa and i speak french. I’m in 11th grade and This year the average of my marks were (out of 20):
13 /20

So I want to now if my marks are good or bad and if It’s possible that I will be admit
In hku next year? Should I go in an lower university?
Thanks

Hey guys.
I’m planning to apply to HKU/HKUST this year.
What are my chances?
I want to do BBA not IB diploma. I don’t mind social sciences.
Gpa: 3.87
SAT: 2050
SAT 2: biology m: 730
Chinese with listening 760
History: 720
Toefl ibt: 112/120

That’s a decent IB score. But then again, I joined in September 2010 and admission at HKU/HKUST has been getting more competitive every year. It’s best to ask someone who has gotten in to HKU/HKUST this year and ask them what they got for IB.

Oh and also note that HK universities don’t really care about TOK/EE. So try getting a high predicted grade without relying on those bonus points.
