HKU or HKUST

the main reason why i apply is because of the scholarship, living cost in london is very expensive, although my parents can afford me, but as the eldest son, wanna reduce their burden, so yea…

Today should be the last day to get offers under fast track… Otherwise…:(

@elisexia
Does that statement apply to HKUST? and are you sure about that?

^ I mean HKU! Becos they stated that in their website. All fast track will be inform by mail in Jan.

Just saw from HKU intl FB page, they say after mid- Feb, if have not heard from them, it will auto be reconsider in main round. I guess they have too many applications to decide.

@elisexia
Oh okay, thanks. HKUST doesn’t have a set due date for releasing the fast-track results right? I’m still waiting for my HKUST result… :(

^ Good Luck!

Do you get any kind of change in status if you are excluded from fast-track for HKUST? My thing is still ‘In consideration’. Also, if you happened to screw up your fast-track interview really badly does it make it hard for main round as well? My interview with HKU was a disaster…

hey anyone applied for hkust main round got their offer already? if ur documents are already shown (reviewed) on… does that mean ur getting closer to the result?

I chose HKUST over HKU . Got offers from both .

Okay quick question,
I’m in community college right now just finished first semester of the first year. I applied to HKUST and I’m stressed out about whether I am likely to be accepted or not.
I got a GPA of 3.47.
Completed my levels in 09 got the following results-
Accounting A
Business studies B
Maths A
Econ D
I have worked in an office for about a year and a half and then started working at the little gym as an instructor.
Should I be hopeful or not?

I wanna know exactly how much does HKU/CUHK/CityU take ECs and/or Comm. Service into consideration during admission? I heard from some people that ECs play an important part while some others said that they don’t look at ECs/Comm service at all. I am planning to apply to these 3 unis in summer/fall 2014 after HS.

So, no one has an offer from HKU or UST for the main round. Applications are probably being processed for the results. Did you guys have the interview over Skype? because, I wasn’t invited for an interview at all. Anyways, Wish you all get in.

@willa96 I think Extra curricular are not more than 5% of overall admission criteria for HK universities unless they are at International level or quite amazing.
@thunderboltsid Hey! one of my friend applied for main round and got his interview call today at 6pm :smiley: i think they have started sending emails for interview for main round applicant. Good luck to all :D

Received an offer to study in HKU, econs n finance. May I know how reputable is the course? Considering between HKU n NUS. :)

@gkcs24
Have you applied under fast track?

To add on to gkcs24’s question, does anyone know what the most reputable business course in HKU is?
Is Business Administration / Accounting and Finance reputable compared to business administration of HKUST?

Hey!

Just checked, for HKU - All fast track decisions have been released. If not accepted by now, it means that your application will be considered for the main round.
Also main round decisions on the application status page will be available from February 18th onwards!!
Also, interviews are not necessary and its mostly applicants from HK or China who get an interview. International applicants dont get one due to logistical issues!! :)

^ Thanks for your information… It’s really tough to those who haven’t got a result yet…:(

Hi, everyone!
I applied to HKUST as an international applicant. (main round)
When does HKUST usually release the results?
I haven’t heard anything or gotten interview calls from HKUST and I’m pretty worried.
