Any updates guys?

Hey. I’ve just had an interview with HKUST (Engineering Faculty). What’s going to be next?

@frostyvlad congrats on your interview!!! How was it?

@gflores95 Thanks! It was ok. I’ve applied to Engineering Faculty and she was asking me questions related to the theme and some personal questions. Also I’m the only Russian student applying to the uni! Now I’m pretty anxious as I have no idea what’s going to happen next…

@frostyvlad hey but at least you got an interview! I heard that’s a good sign I applied to universities in HK as well since I lived there for a bit - from what I know, the only thing you can do now is wait for the results like everyone else
but yeah like I said, I’ve heard that once you get asked for an interview, that means they’re seriously considering you as an applicant!

I’m sure they are anyway, seeing as your the only Russian applying - I’m sure they’ll want you since it helps them diversify their student body

@gflores95 Thanks for a consolation! Where’re you from? What are you going to study?

@frostyvlad I’m actually from the Philippines, but I lived in HK for 6 years I LOVED my time there - so much that I want to go back for university! Hahahah I applied to 4 universities in HK and a few US schools. Planning to study English Literature

Is HKUST conducting interviews? ON what basis?

@gflores That’s cool. Good luck!
@naman1282 No idea… They say that the uni selects students randomly or maybe to get extra information :-??

hey! i have just been accepted into HKUST enginnering. just wondering if scholarship offers are supposed to come with the acceptance letter. there is no mention of any scholarship at all in my acceptance letter. I am an international applicant btw.

@ignorantfool . Congratulations!! from what I read on the site, scholarship offers do come with the letter of acceptance, but you can always call hkust and ask about it.

Btw, if I may ask, how long did you have to wait for your results? I’m an international student as well using my IB diploma to apply to HKUST Engineering. I applied last January 12, but I haven’t heard a single word from them since! :(

anyone got an interview from HKUST? i’ve been waiting for about 3 months and havent got any offer from UST. so sad

@SL88888 3 months? I’m assuming you applied for the early decision but got moved to the mainround?

@ignorantfool I received an offer from HKUST Engineering as well (about a couple of days ago). They didn’t mention anything about scholarships…

=( Is it typical for a past IB student presetting actual IB grades to get their admission results AFTER other IB students get their actual grades so HKUST can compare? i.e. i got to wait until June for my admission result huhuhuhu

I’m a student studying in Hong Kong and will taking the HKDSE exam. However, I wanna try taking SAT/ACT to try entering HKU/UST/CUHK/CityU by non-jupas. As UST shown on the wesite they do accept ACT test score, how about CUHK? Will they accept ACT test score too? And what’s the range for SAT/ACT score for CUHK? I would like to apply natural science subjects.

hey guys! new here =)
from what i know, i dont think it’s necessary for HKUST to conduct interviews for candidates they are satisfied with. in my case, I got an offer (conditional) without any interview. i’m from an indian school.
i applied around mid-dec and got my offer a week ago. i guess patience is the key here for most of us =)

Hey guys i just got an conditional offer (35 in IB) to HKUST’s business and management. Unlike aneebee, I was interviewed around a month ago.

aneebee- I also applied to HKU/ST/CUHK… But, I haven’t heard from any one of them :’(
I submitted my UST app on 3rd Jan and I haven’t heard from them since then. :’(
I study in an ISC school in India… Which board is ur school affiliated to ? And what condition has been applied to ur admission to UST ? Which course did u apply for?

hey @aneebee, which board is your school affiliated to??? and in the letter from UST, did they mention the amount of scholarship??? If Yes then how much???
