HKU or HKUST

@sid007 and @tushar13895, my school is affiliated to CBSE. i dont know how their process goes on like, but i do remember that when their representative came to our school a few months back, he said that no news is good news. which means that your applications must be being positively processed, in my opinion. just keep calm =)
my condition is according to the marks they want me to get in the boards. but obviously, i know a senior in hkust and from what i’ve concluded, each person, according to their academic and extracurricular profile, gets a different kind of offer. but yeah, they’re giving just one-year scholarships, which i guess must be getting renewed according to your performance in college later =P
i applied for engineering btw.
and yeah @jm11544, i think the business and management department must be having a different way to evaluating their applicants, so yeah, an interview could be possible. hope it went well =)

@aneebee Nice(y)! Can you tell me your grades… Am psyched :-S

@aneebee Considering the fact that I totally bombed my interview, I don’t think the interview matters that much

@jm11544 well i hope that too is in the case of HKU, my interview was just okay =P
@sid007 message me.

@aneebee When do u have to accept ur offer by? Mine says March 7th and that’s well before any other universities send out offers. If that is the case, then if I accept the offer, it would mean that i’d have to forfeit my chances of getting into other universities. Do u think I can ask for an extension?

@jm11544 mine is worse. 28th feb -.- and the worst thing is that, i’ve got an offer from HKU too. their deadline is 4th of march. in thick soup as to which university to choose. any advice/opinions?
well, i’d suggest you wait till around 5th of march or so to pay. all that you have to do is click accept and pay, thats all, right? visa’s deadline must be a week after that. till then, if you dont get any better offers, i suggest you go for this. see, theyre doing a favour by saving you a seat. i dont think they’ll be willing to extend your deadline. but you could try be requesting them, no harm in that.
btw, where are you from?

and i’d like to ask for other people’s opinions too. HKU or HKUST for Engineering? any ideas about the pros and cons of both?

@aneebee damn thats soooo early. In terms of HKU vs HKUST engineering, I really don’t know which one is better as im going for business. Anyway to answer ur other question, I was born in Hong Kong but Ive done most of my studies in Canada. You?

@jm11544 ohh. thats cool =P well, you must’ve applied for places like UofToronto and McGill and others too, right? they’re too slow in their process i believe  you must be waiting for their results, i’m pretty sure =P
i’m from India.

I am glad I haven’t received any thing from them. If they want me to decide whether I am going there, I will be a pain. Cong for everyone who got in already and good luck with the rest! :)

Can someone tell me which business program is better between HKUST (first year) or University of Western Ontario (year 2)? Thanks!

Anyone know when does HKUST release their decisions?

had a skype interview with HKU for bachelor of social sciences about a week and a half ago, any ideas on when i will hear from them again? i also have an interview with UST this week for global studies, does anyone have any info about what type of questions will be asked? i have a predicted 36 for IB and go to a Beijing international school. any admission info about bcsoc from HKU or bcglobal studies from HKUST is appreciated !

@kameha i got an email last week from them, i have a phone interview this week for bcsoc global studies

nevermind I think ill be going to CUHK’s IBCE next year

got a conditional offer from hku for bachelor of social science

Does anyone know when will be the HKUST regular decision released?

Does anyone know whether or not HKU tends to give conditional offers that are higher than the transcript you sent them…

For example, if I have an 85 average currently, will they give me a 90 condition?

Also, what are some tips for the interview?

Thanks!

Did anyone get the decision from HKUST for the business program? I had my interview around a month back.

@vowlroar i doubt it. when i had my interview they are asking me if i was condient to meet their condition because it was the same as my predicted. I took IB though. they gave me an offer of 36- same as my predicted.
