Hi! I am from India! I got an offer from the HKUST Business school for BBA along with a conditional scholarship! Im really confused as to whether i should take it. Though its considered really good academically, i wanted to know what is the popularity of the university in the US. Im planning to pursure my Masters in the U.S , so do you think that HKUST would be a good school to help me secure a place in a top American Business School for MBA maybe? Also, how competitive is the Business School in HKUST? And how strong is the international community? I need to decide in 2 days, so if you people could be a little quick, i would really appreciate it! Thank you :)

HKUST is considered top business school Hong Kong as well as in Asia. It has a really good reputation globally. HKUST also has many connections with other schools around the world including the top schools in United States such as University of Southern California. I am certain that HKUST will help you in your future career, and even help you secure a place in one of the top American MBA schools. I have heard that HKUST is a competitive school where the students are highly motivated and competitive. (Even HKUST’s nickname is University of Stress and Tension). This shows how hard working and competitive students are at HKUST. HKUST is generally an international community. I have contacted one of the ambassadors from HKUST, and he says that there are approximately 100 international students in each grade level. There are also a lot of clubs and activities at HKUST, including foot ball and tennis, which is great chance for international students to bond. HKUST is very welcoming towards international students.

I also got a conditional offer from HKUST business school BBA, and I am planning to attend there this fall if I meet my conditions :)

Hey guys, how would you compare HKUST’s BBA with University of Western Ontario’s Ivey Business program?
I would like to eventually work in Hong Kong so I was wondering if both schools are recognized by employers in Hong Kong?

Anyone get accepted to HKUST? My app still said under consideration.

I am still waiting too :frowning: I submitted my app in the early Jan.

I also submitted my app in Jan, and they emailed me today saying that I’m on the waitlist but my application is under full consideration :stuck_out_tongue: I have no clue what that’s supposed to mean.

Hey,
So I got an offer for Biomedical Sciences, Faculty of Med for 38 IB points and an offer for scholarship if I get 44. I’m having a really hard time deciding whether I should take it, as I wanted to go to university in Australia. I think it’s unlikely I’m gonna get the scholarship but even so going to HKU will be a lot cheaper than Australia, HKU will be about $44000 a year whilst Australia would be about $240000. Basically, the reasons I want to go are that it’s cheaper, HK is safer, and there are a lot more opportunities for internships and study abroad. But I’m not sure if I’m going to fit in HKU - there aren’t many internationals and it seems like there’s a lot of segregation between locals/mainlanders/internationals and apparently its crazy competitive. I don’t really like the lifestyle in Hong Kong - it’s a bit too fast-paced for me, but considering that HKU is so much cheaper, and more prestigious than Australian universities (I’m considering UWA and Adelaide) I’m not sure what to do. I think I’d be happier living in Australia ~ what do you guys think?

I think that it’s better if you give HKUST a shot. The job opportunities available after undergrad are vast and varied, and the exchange programs offered, coupled with the HK lifestyle, will provide you with one of the best experiences of your school life. The competition is intense, but there’s no doubt that you can excel if you put your mind and focus on it. The night life is amazing, and the festivities held during the year and amazing as well. Hong Kong is more international, it’s an economic and science hub, as well as one of the few cities excelling globally today. I think it’s more attractive than an Australian university  What IB subjects do you take?

hey guys I am from India (CBSE board) I got 96 percent in my 12th and 9.8 cgp in 10th class.
I had applied to HKUST and HKU for engineering.
I haven’t heard from HKU as of now.
HKUST rejected my offer even before I had a chance to submit my 12th results :((
I don’t have much extra curriculars to boast about( few sports at school level)
could anyone please tell me about my chance of getting into HKU.
I had also applied to NUS and NTU but my chances of getting into either of them are rather slim.
also could anyone please tell me about my chances of getting a scholarship for HKU.
THANK YOU.
