@tuantr I guess that is because I’ve chosen science instead of the other more popular programs like engineering or business. But I actually would prefer for a later result, because now then I need to make my decision at a earlier date than anything else that I applied, which really messes up a lot of things…
Got an offer from HKUST. Any idea when they’re going to inform us regarding the scholarships?
Congrats! Which round did you apply in? Also, Which program?
Main round. Business and management.
The biggest thing I worry about for HKUST is that if I am accepted, and they require me to pay my deposit before the end of March, I won’t be able to see my American college results.
Same here. I’ve applied to three unis in hk. Hope I don’t get the results before mid march
I just got an offer from HKUST for the science program. They want a response by March 3rd, though, and that’s kind of harsh. I won’t get to hear from my American colleges and or my international ones.
Wait, are the science programs at HKUST actually any good? It seems like everyone gets a business degree.
Did anyone get an offer from HKU (fast track) for actuarial science program?
By definition, deferred just means postponed. How much better off are our chances with getting into HKU if we got deferred? I’m trying to get into a phd program and just found out i was deferred. I thought I’d ask here before contacting my potential hku supervisor.
@drb0566 , most students here are prospective undergraduate students so I doubt anyone can answer a query about PhD applications.
I GOT INTO HKU!! Will be accepting the offer. Sad though that the admission fee will go to waste if I get into a better university in the US.
Which program?
Engineering
@uniboundjamy Are u a main round or fast track applicant ? And do you get the interview ?
I applied in December in the main round. And yeah, I got a Skype interview.
When was your interview? Would you mind if I ask which country are you currently in?
It was on 16th Jan. And I’m from Pakistan. Ask me whatever you want to know, I’m glad to help out.
@uniboundjamy I applied in Dec for engineering the same as you but I have got no invitation to interview. May I ask about your stats ? And do you study IB, A level or your own country curriculum ?
Maybe you applied later. I applied on 13th December.
I’m doing A Level. My O level grades were 4As, 4As, and 1B. My AS grades are 1A (whole math), and 2As (Chemistry and physics). Predicted grades are 1A* (physics) and 2As (chemistry and further math).
SAT: 2020
SAT 2: 800(physics) and 790 (Math level 2)
May I ask about your stats as well?
