@LordXXX:
Yeah, I was, as an international student. I’m taking the year off now.

Oh hello there, such a surprise seeing this thread active…
recalls old times a year ago when I was deciding hard between several good schools
I’m a current HKU business student who is admitted through non-jupas.
Glad if I can be of any help ;)

Good luck for those getting your admission results!
Might take me a while since I’ll be out of town for a week.

…on mine, it still says “under consideration…”…><.

Congrats to HKUSTYAY!! ^^

How hard is it to go here as an international (to HK/China) student?

TheGrand, I’m going to HKU as an exchange student in the spring of 2011. What are the most interesting (and not too difficult) business classes to take at HKU?

yayuh i just finished my hkust global biz phone-interview!
it lasted 40 mins wow…
I hope i get a place… :S

How long does HKUST application usually take? I have already heard back from all the US colleges I applied to and now waiting for HKUST alone.

oldnite1: Yeah it gets really long…

exe163: About 5-6 weeks. That’s the amount of time it took me. I applied to HKUST at

the end of January and heard back from them in the mid of march.

Oldnite: How was the interview? I have never been interviewed before, I have no idea what they ask and what they are looking for in my answers, do you mind sharing your thoughts?

and thanks kyubaek

exe163: I’m not oldnite, but this was sth I told oldnite before oldnite did the interview.

"At this moment, there’s probably nothing that you can do to

prepare for the interview fully. Since I had an interview a week ago from now (A Damn

long one too), this is my advice: Go over everything you sent to the school. Reviewing

your documents should be top priority.

Anythingelse you do won’t help even one bit. (Believe me, I tried preparing for the

interview and it was completely useless…)"

I’m not sure if it was of any help, but the interview itself is more about you yourself

and things regarding your interests. They aren’t looking for any answers. There’s no

way that you will be able to fully answer their questions. Just do your best.

@All tall people - I contacted HKU regarding the size of the hall beds and they said the beds were 2000mm x 910mm I guess thats the standard in HK? At least its the standard in Europe. Anyways, hope this can be of help to some people:) (at least I wondered about it before I found out!)

Title says it all.

I applied as international and I heard the acceptance rate is like 2% for international. Is that true?

Does anyone know someone that made it already?

Thanks!

hey guys,
why does mine say that im still under consideration for my choices on HKU portal??
i was told through informal email like 4 days ago that i was offered a conditional offer (HKU didnt actually send me an official email. i just asked one of the academic staffs). The portal was updated April 1st… whats wrong? im panicking now

williamparkar: Good Luck!!

oldnite1: If it was an unofficial e-mail, you might as well wait until the official e-mail arrives.

Maybe by then, the portal would have updated results on your admission.

@irunshow-i know ,its ridiculously hard for an international to get into HKU for medicine…
you need to be way above outstanding to get in…
if you are,then it should be no problem.
all the best…where are you from?? that might have an impact on your application

Do any of you know if your “allowed” to apply for student visa, accommodation etc. with your conditional offer? Or do you have to wait until you get the unconditional one?

@oldnite1

Hey man, thats exactly what i am concerned about too. I have got an email, which says that i made an admission offer, and that they will email a specified offer when vetting evaluation finished. Even though i got this email, the online status still appears as ‘under consideration’.

Did you get an email from the address ‘ienroll@hku.hk’ ?

@hkustyay

heyy
i got an email from a specific person in charge named fanny.
i first emailed intl@hku.hk then ms.fanny replied me saying that they will offer me a place.
did you do the same? or did they email you first?

@oldnite1

I got an email from ienroll@hku.hk, regarded by Ms.beatrix, and this said that BBA A&F department has decided to make me an admission offer.

So, i was very excited until another anxiety feeling came up in my mind…

cuz, it was the first time i got an email from that address…

Well, i replied to that email about online status, and ms.beatrix said that online status could be delayed… but, i guess i will be totally relieved when a decision notification appeared in the online status, as it is more believable and fixed. Post me if u got something new to say :)

@Anand78

Thanks for the luck. I am from Canada but I have a HKU passport (like I am HKU citizen). But I lived in Canada for the last 12 years and did school here.
