I have been a toyota owner since 1986.
How can you not believe there is a problem?
I will not play the lottery by driving my rav 4.

notre dame al: thanks for that great link. We are still researching trucks/suv’s.
Only paid 17,600 for the 2009 Rav 4 w/ roof rack and third row seating during peak recession and with clunker cash and stimulis money to pay closing costs.

Sax’s original article did make sense, in that faulty sensors could cause the problem.

When we hear that no one can reproduce the problem, I have to wonder if they are driving down the road, pushing the accelerator, brake, etc. or if they are in a lab setting selectively forcing sensor inputs to see how the system reacts. Intermittent problems are hard to solve, and 2 hours of investigation is not sufficient to discover those sorts of problems.

Ooops:

Another driver error.

Reminds me of my dog. She has been limping horribly lately, but when I take her to the vet, she never does it. It’s kind of hard for the vet to figure out the problem when she can’t see it. I wonder if behind my back they’re calling me the Munchausen by Proxy mom, lol.

Toyota sales are strong in my local area for March. There was an article in the paper where March sales for 2010 will be quite a bit stronger than they were in 2009. Of course massive incentives helps things along.

Oops… Anther Honda recall… Check if your vehicle is affected:

My Toyota is affected by the latest Avalon/Lexus recall - steering wheel can lock while the car is in motion. Wonderful. They’re supposed to start the recall at the end of August.

If you have an affected Honda, just remember to use the parking brake.
