Great idea, maenidmom! I took my older son shopping and he picked out gifts for him and his brother so one kid will get what he wants and the other kid will be surprised and hopefully get what he wants too. Actually, he’s getting a lot of kitchen stuff for his apartment next year so he might not be too excited but it’s stuff he needs.

Fun idea, maenidmom. I like it.

We just bought DS (26 and a college grad) a wallet. In each “slot” in it, we put a different gift card (Express, H&M, Walmart, Itunes, Staples, Home Depot). We think it’s going to be a hit…he asked for the wallet and the contents will be a surprise.

Thanks Thumper - one of mine needs a new wallet and the gift cards are a great idea.

^ I like that idea also. My S is in desparate need of a new wallet, filling it with GC’s is a great surprise.

Thumper, that’s very clever! I think I’ll borrow that idea :)

Last year my son’s main gift was a wallet that I made from cardstock and scrapbook paper. It folded like a billfold and had three card slots on each side, plus a place for bills. I put a $100 bill in the bill slot and six gift cards in the card slots. It was a hit! Here is a photo of the inside of one (not mine, just the same idea).

I would love to make that ^^^ what a cute idea. But at this point in the Christmas game, I have absolutely NO patience! Even though he doesn’t need a wallet, the idea is great (cause I have a stack of gift cards) - it would be cute to pick up an extra anyway…

Thanks for the fun stocking ideas. I just placed an order with Amazon - free shipping - and I’ll have everything by the 23rd!

A snuggie. I always wanted one lol.

I offered to get DW a snuggie, she let me know in no uncertain terms how much she would appreciate that.

So now I use it as a threat. ;)

Do you know you can buy software cheap through Journey Ed?

This will hopefully make you all laugh. The wallet we used for THIS year’s gift (the gift cards) was actually a gift to DS LAST Christmas. He left it here. I found it on a bookshelf in his room with the price tags still on it. Decided to “regift” it to him…a regift of a gift he already received. We got six gift cards…Kohls, Express, H&M, Home Depot, Walmart and Staples. I think he’ll like this wallet more this year :)

Thumper, if he doesn’t remember to take it home this time you are welcome to re-re-gift it to me. =)

Fendergirl…the deal is he has to take the wallet in order to KEEP the cards. If not, I will use those cards…except I’m not sure there is ANYTHING at Express that would fit or be suitable for an oldie like me!!

Now that Christmas is over, I’m dying to know the reactions to all the great ideas here. I’ll use the ideas for next year, since I didn’t see this thread until it was “too late”. So…what did your sons and daughters love, and love “not so much”?

My daughter loved the Agloves touch screen gloves, the Isotoner Smart Touch gloves, not as much. Her favorite gift was a pair of Uggs red plaid boots. My son’s fav was a Snap On tool set.

Yay! I got a snuggie…okay, it’s the really, really soft NAP one from Brookstone but it’s still basically a snuggie!

I want to thank y’all for mentioning that handknit headband thing. She really liked it and it looks very cute.

The Isotoner gloves were a big hit with my S’s GF! Never did find a pair for my husband - they were sold out or only had small sizes whereever I went…
